The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 is set to arrive at U.S. dealerships before the end of the year, introducing an all-new generation of the full-size pickup with an extensive camera system offering up to 19 different views.
GMC is positioning the new Sierra as a more luxurious and upscale alternative to the Chevrolet Silverado. Among its key technologies is an advanced camera system designed to improve visibility when parking the large pickup, navigating tight spaces or tackling off-road trails.
Up to 19 Camera Views Available
Visibility can be challenging in a full-size pickup, particularly with tall hoods and bodies stretching beyond 230 inches in the Sierra Crew Cab. GMC says its new system is the most comprehensive camera setup yet seen in a pickup.
When fully equipped, the system provides 19 different camera views. Beyond a 360-degree perspective, it can show areas behind a trailer and underneath the truck.

GMC is particularly highlighting the Sierra’s first-in-class front and rear underbody cameras. They allow drivers to identify potentially damaging obstacles or debris beneath the truck, while both cameras feature wash functions to clear mud from their lenses.
The Sierra also introduces the new Cabin Glance camera view. To help drivers manage the various camera perspectives, every 2027 Sierra comes standard with a 16.3-inch touchscreen alongside a 12.2-inch digital driver display.
How the Sierra’s Camera System Compares
Ram and Ford also offer 360-degree camera systems, while the Ford F-150 provides a bed view and can be equipped with a trailer auxiliary camera.
According to GMC, however, those systems are not as comprehensive as the camera technology available on the new Sierra.
2027 GMC Sierra 1500 Adds More Power
The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 also brings changes to its engine lineup. The base 2.7-liter four-cylinder TurboMax now produces 350 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, giving it a class-best standard torque figure even against V6 rivals.
For buyers seeking traditional V8 power without electrification or turbocharging, GMC offers a new 6.6-liter Small Block V8 producing 481 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.
GMC says the engine is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the segment and its most powerful half-ton V8 ever. The lineup also includes a 402-hp V8 and a turbodiesel producing 495 lb-ft of torque with a highway range of more than 900 miles.
