Alpine is preparing to reveal the third-generation A110, and the upcoming sports car will mark a major departure from its predecessors. The Renault-owned French brand is replacing the internal-combustion powertrain with an all-electric setup while aiming to preserve the coupe’s fun-to-drive character.
New Alpine A110 Will Use an 800-Volt System
The upcoming electric Alpine A110 will reportedly feature an 800-volt electrical system and two separate battery packs. One battery will be positioned at the front and the other at the rear, creating a 40:60 weight distribution.
The car will be built around Alpine’s Performance Platform, which was previously shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year beneath current-generation A110 bodywork.
Alpine Teases the A110 With a Sculpture
Rather than previewing the new A110 through conventional photographs or promotional videos, Alpine chose a more unusual approach. The French automaker created a 1:1 sculpture depicting the upcoming electric sports car beneath what appears to be a flowing veil.
The sculpture highlights the A110’s overall silhouette, revealing wide fenders and quarter panels, a fastback roof and a slender central section that gives the coupe an hourglass-like shape.
The front end appears more aggressive, with smooth curves transitioning into sharper lines and a more angular appearance.
Alpine A110 EV Set for Official Reveal Next Year
The sculpture provides an early look at the proportions of the upcoming A110, but Alpine has not yet revealed the actual production car. The company plans to officially unveil the sports car sometime next year, although the exact date has not been decided.
The unveiling is expected to take place later in the year, meaning the production version of the electric A110 remains some time away from its debut.
A110 Sculpture Heads to the Paris Motor Show
In the meantime, Alpine will display the sculpture at the Paris Motor Show beginning October 12. The exhibit will give visitors an opportunity to see the upcoming A110’s silhouette in person.
The sculpture also offers an early visual reference for the third-generation A110 as Alpine moves toward an all-electric sports car while retaining the design character and proportions highlighted by the company.
