The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera has made its debut at the automaker’s museum in Arese, Italy, giving the limited-production supercar an entirely different appearance. Finished in exposed matte carbon fiber rather than the red associated with many Alfa Romeo models, the one-off creation was commissioned by its owner and is the first project from Bottega Alfa Romeo.
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera Gets Unique Carbon Finish
The commissioning owner worked closely with Alfa Romeo Centro Stile and the brand’s Bottega department to create the only all-black 33 Stradale. Although just 33 examples of the supercar are slated for production, the owner chose an exposed carbon fiber finish that gives this car a distinct appearance.
Unlike the multi-layer paint used on other examples, the matte carbon finish requires millimetric precision when arranging each hand-laid panel’s fibers. That detail is particularly visible at the front, where the carbon-fiber weaves meet in the center to form a V-shaped pattern.
The exterior is completed by exclusive carbon fiber-garnished wheels featuring black and silver Alfa Romeo emblems in their center caps. The dark theme continues throughout the cabin.
Perla Nera Interior Adds Custom Details
The seats feature a reinterpretation of Alfa Romeo’s traditional “cannelloni” pattern, which is also repeated across the door cards and side sills. The headrests receive carbon fiber Perla Nera inserts, while the car’s name appears on the door cards and inside the storage cubby.
The storage compartment has been relocated to the rear of the cockpit and secured in a specially designed bracket. Each 33 Stradale also comes with fitted luggage, and the Perla Nera’s bags are finished in black Alcantara and carry the car’s production number, 3.
Additional details include Quadrifoglio and Autodelta symbols in the door frame. The rotary selector in the center console also features the owner’s initials, although Alfa Romeo did not provide images of the detail in order to maintain the owner’s anonymity.
33 Stradale Perla Nera Keeps the Same Powertrain
Despite its unique appearance, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera is mechanically identical to the other 32 examples of the supercar that will ultimately be produced.
It uses a 630-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive.
First Bottega Alfa Romeo Project
The Perla Nera is the first project from Bottega Alfa Romeo and is intended to demonstrate the automaker’s ability to offer bespoke finishes and details for collectors interested in high-dollar, low-volume cars.
With production of the 33 Stradale continuing, the Perla Nera establishes a highly customized direction for the limited-production model while retaining the same mechanical configuration as the other examples.
