The Chrysler Pacifica is dominating the U.S. minivan market this year, with Chrysler selling 101,627 Pacificas during the first nine months, a 12% increase from the 90,733 minivans sold during the same period a year ago.

Chrysler Pacifica Sales Surge

The Pacifica is currently the only vehicle remaining in Chrysler’s lineup, but its strong performance has given the brand a notable bright spot. The sales figure includes both the Pacifica and the entry-level Voyager, although Chrysler expects demand to remain strong despite the Voyager’s discontinuation with the minivan’s 2027 facelift.

Chrysler has introduced a new entry-level Pacifica LX starting at $41,495, putting it at roughly the same price as the Voyager.

The Pacifica’s strong sales come as several rivals also post gains. Families facing higher costs are increasingly looking beyond more expensive and less fuel-efficient three-row SUVs toward minivans, which provide similar amounts of space.

The Toyota Sienna ranked second with 84,770 units sold through the first nine months of the year, an 11.7% increase from the same period a year earlier. The Honda Odyssey followed with 65,986 sales, down 7%, while the Kia Carnival recorded 61,540 sales, up 20.2%.

Honda Odyssey Falls Behind Rivals

The Honda Odyssey was the only model among the major minivans to post a decline. Its aging design may be contributing to the weaker performance, as the current fifth-generation model debuted for 2018 and has changed little since then.

That has left its styling and technology looking dated compared with rival models. The Odyssey also lacks an all-wheel-drive option and is now the most expensive minivan by starting MSRP, with a 2027 starting price of $43,195.

Chrysler’s Next New Vehicles

Chrysler is expected to have more vehicles in its lineup in the coming years, reducing its reliance on the minivan segment. The first additions are expected to be the Arrow and a coupe-like sibling called the Arrow Cross.

The two models will essentially be rebadged versions of the Moroccan-built Fiat Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback. The Chrysler versions are expected to arrive next year as 2028 models, with pricing reportedly starting around $25,000, signaling the brand’s focus on affordability.

Airflow SUV Still Further Out

Further ahead, Chrysler plans to introduce a midsize SUV carrying the Airflow nameplate. The model is not expected until late this decade and will be the production version of the on-again, off-again Airflow concept first shown in 2022.

The production model will likely feature a design that has evolved considerably from the concept vehicle. Chrysler had also previously indicated that an electric Pacifica was in development, although the slowdown in EV demand may have pushed that model to the back burner.

For now, the Chrysler Pacifica remains the brand’s clear sales leader, with its first-nine-month performance outpacing every other minivan in the U.S. market.
