The BMW M4 CSL was offered in just three colors, but one owner turned to the BMW Individual program for a finish that appears to make their car a true one-of-one. The special M4 CSL was ordered in Frozen Tampa Bay Green, a color outside the model’s standard palette.

The BMW Individual Program

The BMW Individual program began in 1991 and made its public debut in 1992. Its first car was an E32 7 Series 750iL designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Since then, the program has provided special colors for various BMW models. BMW Individual eventually reached the U.S. in 2006 and has produced truly bespoke models, while the program has not been limited to the automaker’s more expensive vehicles.

That means unique BMW Individual colors can also appear on models such as the 3 Series, including lower-spec versions, particularly outside the U.S.

A One-of-One BMW M4 CSL

The BMW M4 CSL was available in three colors: Frozen Brooklyn Grey, Black Sapphire and Alpine White. According to BMWBlog, more than half of the cars were finished in Frozen Brooklyn Grey, with the remaining two colors accounting for the rest.

However, BMWBlog and MDataWorks found an owner who chose something different. Rather than selecting one of the three standard finishes, the owner went through the BMW Individual catalog and ordered the M4 CSL in Frozen Tampa Bay Green.

Because no other M4 CSL is known to have been specified in that color, the green car is considered a legitimate one-of-one example.

Unique M4 CSL Reportedly Spotted in Berlin

Finding the Individual M4 CSL may not be easy, but MDataWorks says the car was recently spotted in Berlin. A photo was later shared to a public Facebook page.

Based on the car’s plate, the M4 CSL is registered in Germany, indicating that it is not simply a tourist vehicle passing through the city.

Frozen Tampa Bay Green Sets It Apart

The unique finish does not change the M4 CSL’s performance, but Frozen Tampa Bay Green gives the car a distinctive appearance. The color already suits the standard M4, while the matte Frozen finish adds another level of distinction.

It is also possible that the owner chose BMW Individual touches for the interior, although the available information does not confirm whether the cabin received any additional customization.

The G82 M4 CSL is already rare, with only 1,036 built. The owner who selected Frozen Tampa Bay Green has made this particular example stand out even further.
