The Dodge Charger Sixpack is now on sale across Europe, with the gas-powered two-door carrying a starting price of $92,400 in the UK. Stellantis opened European orders in June, with first deliveries beginning in September.
Dodge Charger Sixpack Arrives in the UK
In Britain, importer KWA’s retailer Unity Automotive is selling the two-door Charger for $92,400, according to PistonHeads. Every Charger sold in the UK is left-hand drive, and Dodge has not published sales targets for the model.
The European launch comes as Dodge’s gas-powered Charger faces a very different market opportunity than it does in the U.S. While the Charger sold about 76,000 units domestically in 2023, European sales volumes would be considerably smaller.
Why the Charger Sixpack Fits Europe
Dodge’s U.S. sales figures show the challenge facing the gas-powered Charger at home. Through September, gas Charger sales totaled 8,029 units, representing strong growth from a small base. However, second-quarter gas sales of 2,911 units were far below the 24,004 Chargers sold in the same quarter of 2023.
In Britain, even a few hundred Charger sales annually would make the car a notable presence. Its twin-turbo inline-six also follows an engine formula already used by several performance models sold in the market.
The BMW M2, BMW M4 and Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 all use turbocharged six-cylinder engines, meaning European buyers are already familiar with performance cars powered by turbocharged sixes rather than V8 engines.
Why the U.S. Charger Sixpack Is Cheaper
The biggest difference between the U.S. and European versions is price. In the United States, the Charger Sixpack R/T starts at roughly $52,000, while the Scat Pack starts at $57,000.
The UK R/T costs about 78% more, creating a price difference of more than $40,000. The UK Scat Pack costs slightly more than $100,000, while prices for the Charger in mainland Europe start at €66,000, or $74,800.
Part of the price difference comes from VAT, shipping and duty rather than Dodge’s margin. UK owners also face an additional £440, or $580, in annual road tax for five years on cars costing more than £40,000.
At these prices, buyers can also choose a Ford Mustang Dark Horse or BMW M2 xDrive at about the same price.
The Missing V8 Charger
While the Sixpack is now reaching European buyers, many American enthusiasts are still waiting for a version of the Charger powered by a V8.
The Detroit Free Press, following a Stellantis media preview, reports that a supercharged Hemi Charger producing “north of 700 horsepower” is coming. The reported timing ranges from 2028 to 2030, but there is no official date.
There has also been no indication of whether the future V8 Charger will be offered in Europe. For now, the Sixpack gives Dodge a gas-powered Charger for European buyers, while the potential return of a high-output Hemi would address a different demand in the U.S.
