The 2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid continues to offer a practical middle ground between compact two-row SUVs and larger three-row models, combining flexible passenger space, competitive pricing and strong fuel economy. Although Kia has raised prices slightly for the new model year, it has introduced a new X-Line EX trim that delivers tougher styling and standard all-wheel drive at a lower price than last year’s comparable options.
2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid Pricing and Trim Levels
The EX is the entry-level trim for the 2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid, with a starting price of $39,090. Including the unchanged $1,495 destination charge, the total rises to $40,585. That’s a $200 increase over last year, but the Sorento Hybrid remains significantly less expensive than several larger competitors.
The starting price is about $5,000 below that of the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid and approximately $8,000 less than the regular Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The Sorento Hybrid is also priced in line with the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid.
Front-wheel drive comes standard on the EX, while all-wheel drive costs an additional $1,800. The other returning trim, the X-Line SX-Prestige, receives a $400 price increase for 2027 but now includes a head-up display as standard equipment.
New X-Line EX Brings Rugged Styling at a Lower Price
The biggest addition to the 2027 lineup is the new X-Line EX, which combines the equipment of the entry-level EX with styling elements from the higher-end X-Line models. The result is a more rugged-looking SUV that retains much of the base trim’s equipment while adding distinctive exterior and interior details.
Exterior changes include redesigned bumpers with faux skid plates, gloss-black wheels and gloss-black exterior trim. Inside, the X-Line EX adds wood interior trim. All-wheel drive is also standard, eliminating the need to pay extra for the feature on the base EX.
However, the X-Line EX does not include the off-road drive modes available on the X-Line SX-Prestige, although those modes are optional. It also omits some smaller details, including X-Line logos on the seatbacks.
For buyers who prioritize rugged styling and standard all-wheel drive over those additional features, the new trim offers a way to save $4,500 while retaining much of the X-Line appearance.
2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid Powertrain and Fuel Economy
The Sorento Hybrid pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain produces 232 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, giving the SUV a combination of performance and efficiency.
Combined fuel economy ranges from 34 to 37 mpg, depending on the vehicle’s configuration. That efficiency is a key part of the Sorento Hybrid’s appeal, particularly for buyers seeking three-row seating without moving to a larger SUV.
Standard Features on the Sorento Hybrid EX
Despite serving as the entry-level model, the EX comes with a substantial list of standard equipment. Exterior features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and heated mirrors.
The cabin includes heated, power-adjustable front seats, leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless phone charger and a power tailgate.
Standard safety and driver-assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centering, blind-spot warning and adaptive lights.
Available Features on Higher Sorento Hybrid Trims
Buyers who want additional comfort, technology and convenience features can choose optional equipment or move to a higher trim level. Available upgrades include enhanced sound systems, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats and leather upholstery.
Automated lane-change functionality is also available, adding to the range of driver-assistance features offered across the lineup.
With a modest price increase, a new rugged-styled X-Line EX trim and fuel economy of up to 37 mpg in combined driving, the 2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid continues to offer a three-row SUV option for buyers balancing passenger space, equipment and cost.
