The 2027 Jeep Cherokee is expanding its lineup with the return of the Trailhawk package, two new Altitude trims and additional exterior colors. Despite the added options and off-road upgrades, the entry-level Cherokee costs just $130 more than last year’s model, with a starting price of $37,125, including the destination charge.
2027 Jeep Cherokee Adds Trailhawk Off-Road Capability
The biggest change for the 2027 Jeep Cherokee is the addition of the Trailhawk trim, which enhances the SUV’s off-road capabilities with upgraded equipment and a more rugged setup.
The Cherokee Trailhawk features a two-speed transfer case and Active Drive II 4×4 with a dedicated low-range crawl mode. Additional equipment includes red tow hooks, skid plates, all-terrain tires and a suspension tuned for off-road driving.
The Trailhawk also supports flat towing, a feature that can be particularly useful for recreational vehicle owners. The 2027 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk starts at $44,625, including a $1,955 destination fee.
Two New Altitude Trims Add Black Exterior Details
Jeep is also expanding the Cherokee lineup with two Altitude packages for the Laredo and Limited trims. The Altitude designation, already used elsewhere in the Jeep lineup, adds distinctive black exterior accents and other styling upgrades.
The Laredo Altitude includes 18-inch gloss-black wheels, gloss-black badges and faux-leather seats with suede inserts. The Limited Altitude features the same wheels and badges, along with a gloss-black roof.
Pricing for the Laredo Altitude has not yet been announced. The Limited Altitude package adds $595 to the Limited’s $42,125 manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
New Exterior Colors Join the 2027 Cherokee Lineup
The 2027 Jeep Cherokee will also receive several new paint options. Fathom Blue and Ghost are new additions expected to be available immediately.
Copper Shino, which debuted on the Grand Cherokee last year, will arrive later in the model year. The similarly yellow-orange Goldilocks color is also scheduled to join the palette later in the model year.
2027 Jeep Cherokee Pricing Increases by $130
The entry-level 2027 Jeep Cherokee starts at $37,125, including a $1,995 destination charge. That’s a $130 increase compared with last year’s model, and the same price increase applies across all trims.
Although Jeep is adding new configurations and off-road equipment, the base-model price adjustment remains relatively small. The Trailhawk and Altitude packages provide additional choices for buyers seeking enhanced capability or distinctive styling.
Hybrid Powertrain Delivers Up to 37 MPG Combined
Every 2027 Jeep Cherokee is equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain producing 210 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque. Jeep’s 4×4 system comes standard across the lineup, and the automaker estimates combined fuel economy of 37 mpg for the standard Cherokee.
Jeep describes the Cherokee hybrid as its most fuel-efficient model ever. However, the Trailhawk’s off-road-focused equipment affects its efficiency.
With its all-terrain tires, redesigned front fascia and upgraded 4×4 system, the Cherokee Trailhawk is estimated to deliver 31 mpg combined, compared with the 37 mpg combined estimate for the standard model.
The 2027 Jeep Cherokee lineup combines a modest price increase with additional trim options, expanded color choices and a Trailhawk model designed for more demanding off-road driving.
