Karma Automotive has shifted the Gyesera Grand Coupe from its original all-electric plan to a plug-in electric powertrain, giving the model 566 horsepower, up to 80 miles of electric-only range and a starting price of $139,995.

Karma Gyesera Moves to a Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The Gyesera Grand Coupe was originally planned as a fully electric grand touring sedan aimed at competing with Tesla while challenging cars such as the Porsche Taycan. In 2024, Karma Automotive planned to equip the vehicle with a 120 kWh battery pack, 390 horsepower and more than 250 miles of range.

Karma has now changed direction. The company announced the Plug-in Electric Gyesera, a range-extended vehicle that could give the model a new path to market after its original development plan faced challenges.

The Gyesera traces its roots to the Fisker Karma, with Karma continuing to emphasize luxury, exclusivity and premium positioning. The new powertrain also addresses the original positioning challenge in which the Gyesera was expected to cost more than a Tesla, deliver less performance and approach the price of a Porsche Taycan.

Karma Gyesera Specs and Performance

According to Karma Automotive, the Gyesera will use a 22.1 kWh battery pack paired with an engine. The company has not announced which engine will power the vehicle.

The 2011 Fisker Karma used a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoTec engine, also known as the LNF power unit, which produced 290 horsepower. It remains unclear whether Karma is using the same GM power unit or another engine provider for the Gyesera.

The Gyesera is rated at 566 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. Karma says the car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 146 mph.

Electric-only range is rated at up to 80 miles, while total range reaches up to 380 miles. Compared with the Karma Revero, the Gyesera offers 30 more horsepower, is up to about 0.8 seconds quicker from zero to 60 mph and provides 20 miles of additional range.

Luxury Features and PB75 Edition

As a premium model, the Gyesera features a detailed interior, a vented hood and 21- or 22-inch wheels. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a center console extending from front to back and a JL Audio system.

The vehicle will also feature Karma’s “Target Lighting” among its smaller interior and design touches.

Karma is also preparing a 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance edition called the “PB75.” It will feature 22-inch wheels, red brake calipers, a gold exterior with red stripes, and black and red upholstery with platinum accents.

Gyesera Price and Arrival Date

The Karma Gyesera starts at $139,995 and is expected to arrive at Karma dealerships in December 2026. Its MSRP is lower than the pricing level that had previously placed the model in comparison with Porsche and Tesla.

Karma is also teasing additional models scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027 and the first quarter of 2028, according to the company.

More Karma Models Are Planned

The Amaris GT is described as coming sooner, while the Kaveya is being positioned as a potent vehicle with 1,000 horsepower cited as a key figure.

However, the Kaveya had previously been announced for launch in the fourth quarter of 2025. The timing of Karma’s future models therefore remains tied to the company’s stated launch plans.

With the Gyesera, Karma has moved away from its original fully electric concept and toward a range-extended plug-in configuration. The production model is now scheduled to reach Karma dealerships in December 2026 with 566 horsepower and a starting price of $139,995.
