Two clips purportedly showing leaked GTA 6 gameplay surfaced online Tuesday, just nine days before Rockstar is set to premiere an “extended look” at Grand Theft Auto VI via Netflix.

Leaked GTA 6 Clips Quickly Removed

Each of the two videos runs for a little more than a minute. The original uploads were already removed with a copyright claim by the time the footage was being reported, highlighting how closely Rockstar appears to be monitoring the material.

The clips were also covered with URLs, QR codes and advertisements for cryptocurrency, adding another layer to the circumstances surrounding the alleged leak.

Jason Shoots Hoops and Gains a New Stat

One clip shows protagonist Jason outside his waterfront home, where he spends time shooting basketball. The footage includes a small detail that could point to how recreational activities work in GTA 6.

After Jason makes a basket, he gains a “Focus” stat. The footage suggests that activities outside the main action could have some gameplay significance, although the clips alone do not establish how the system works.

GTA 6 Driving Footage Shows the Vapid Ganado

The second clip focuses more heavily on driving, although the vehicle action takes place at low speed. Jason is seen performing handbrake turns in a rusted-out 1970 Vapid Ganado, the Ranchero-looking vehicle that has appeared in earlier GTA 6 footage.

During the sequence, a mail truck hits the Ganado, causing it to spin. The other driver then returns and rams Jason again before getting out and starting a fight.

Jason quickly wins the confrontation. During the brawl, a devil-emoji-style icon appears on the right side of the screen, potentially indicating some type of honor system.

New Loadout and Vehicle Indicators Appear

After the fight, Jason walks past the bed of the truck and heads back toward his vehicle. Options to modify his loadout appear overhead.

The footage also shows small icons for the Ganado’s engine and fuel appearing above the mini-map when Jason gets back behind the wheel. Those details suggest players may have additional vehicle-related considerations while driving around Leonida.

Does GTA 6 Have More Realistic Gameplay?

The small gameplay details have prompted some viewers to suggest that GTA 6 could take a slower, more methodical and realistic approach than previous games.

However, the footage does not provide enough gameplay to make that conclusion definitively. The clips contain only about two minutes of relatively low-intensity action, and the gameplay can still look familiar, resembling GTA 5 while featuring more intricate animations and improved lighting and shadows.

When Was the Leaked Footage Recorded?

Some have suggested that the captures date back to 2023, which could mean the final version of the game will feature a visual improvement over what appears in the leaked material.

Rockstar is scheduled to premiere an “extended look” at Grand Theft Auto VI via Netflix in nine days. Whatever the quality of the leaked footage, the publisher-approved material shown through Netflix is expected to present a clearer look at the game.
