The Porsche 992.2 has yet to receive an official ducktail spoiler, but Dissident Automotive has created an aftermarket solution for owners who want the classic look without buying an entirely new car. The carbon-fiber spoiler is available for existing GT3 and GT3 Touring models, with prices starting at about $4,500 before taxes and shipping.

The Original RennSport

Porsche’s track-focused aerodynamic upgrades were once considerably simpler than the wings, canards and diffusers found on modern models. The original Carrera RS 2.7 from the ’70s helped establish the formula with its distinctive ducktail spoiler.

Designed as a homologation special, the Carrera RS 2.7 has since become a highly sought-after classic with genuine motorsport pedigree. Over the years, Porsche’s ducktail design grew larger and eventually became integrated into the 911’s overall shape.

More hardcore versions later brought GT-style wings and additional aerodynamic components to production models, giving them an appearance closer to Carrera Cup cars. Porsche has also periodically revived the classic ducktail on special-edition models as a connection to its past.

No Ducktail for the 992.2 Yet

The Porsche 911’s 992 generation has been around since its world premiere in late 2018, while the updated 992.2 arrived for the 2025 model year. However, unlike the 992.1, which received a ducktail spoiler on the Sport Classic, the 992.2 has yet to get the same treatment.

The newer generation is still relatively young, but expectations that the spoiler would appear on the GT3 Bergsport did not materialize. A GT3 has nevertheless been spotted doing laps around the Nürburgring with the classic-style spoiler, suggesting that an official version could eventually appear.

The Aftermarket Solution

For owners unwilling to wait, Dissident Automotive has developed its own ducktail spoiler and plans to make it available to customers. That means existing GT3 and GT3 Touring owners can potentially add the design without purchasing another car.

The spoiler is made from carbon fiber, and Carbonwurks has demonstrated its installation. The fitting process appears relatively straightforward for someone comfortable working with a spanner, although the installation also requires coding.

The module controlling the deployable spoiler needs to be disabled. Without that change, the ducktail could rise at 75 mph and function as an air brake, while also potentially causing errors to appear.

Porsche Ducktail Spoiler Pricing

The finished component has an OEM-style appearance and is available for purchase. An unpainted carbon ducktail costs about $4,500, while a color-matched version is around $5,550.

For buyers seeking the appearance shown on the demonstration car, the painted version with a carbon accent costs more than $5,800. Those prices do not include taxes or shipping costs from England.

For owners of the GT3 and GT3 Touring, the aftermarket ducktail provides a way to bring the classic Porsche design to the 992.2 without waiting for an official version or replacing the car.
