The Chevrolet Silverado “Launch Edition” brings a distinctly street-truck-focused formula to the current-generation pickup, combining a lowered suspension, upgraded brakes and a supercharged V8 producing 602 horsepower. Developed by Callaway Cars Inc. and Waldoch Crafts Inc., the limited-edition Silverado is restricted to 100 examples.

A Different Take on the Street Truck

Ram essentially revived the street-truck segment with the 1500 Rumble Bee, and its commercial success could encourage other automakers to follow. Chevrolet fans, however, have an alternative to waiting in the form of the new limited-edition Silverado “Launch Edition.”

The truck was developed jointly by Callaway Cars Inc. and Waldoch Crafts Inc. and builds on the street-truck character of the Chevrolet Silverado RST with features including a lowered suspension and supercharged V8.

The Launch Edition is not a direct equivalent to the 1500 Rumble Bee because the Ram features more extensive modifications, including a shortened frame and wheelbase. Even so, Callaway and Waldoch have taken the street-oriented character of the donor Silverado RST further with their first joint project.

Lowered, Supercharged and Built to Stand Out

The Chevrolet Silverado Launch Edition receives several exterior and interior changes. These include a body-color grille with an illuminated Chevy bowtie, SC602 badging, leather and Alcantara upholstery with topographic-map-style trim, co-branded puddle lamps and serialized plaques.

Its lowered suspension uses a coil-over front design and double-adjustable dampers. The setup is paired with 22-inch wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes ST III tires, along with six-piston front brakes and 15-inch slotted rotors.

At the rear, a valved stainless-steel quad-exit exhaust gives the truck a muscle-car-oriented finish rather than an off-road-focused appearance.

602-HP Supercharged V8

The most significant upgrade comes from the Silverado’s 6.2-liter L87 V8, which has been fitted with Callaway’s SC602 package. The system includes a TripleCooled 2650cc Roots-type supercharger and increases output to 602 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.

Those figures represent gains of 182 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque over the engine’s previous output.

The press release did not provide new performance figures such as a 0-to-60-mph time. The supercharger should provide immediate power delivery with little of the lag associated with a turbocharged setup, while the lowered suspension should help the truck feel more stable, particularly through corners.

A Limited-Edition Sendoff

Beyond its street-truck upgrades, the Chevrolet Silverado “Launch Edition” also serves as a sendoff for the current-generation model.

The next-generation 2027 Silverado and redesigned GMC Sierra are just around the corner with a more rugged, squared-off appearance and new small-block V8s from General Motors’ Gen 6 engine family.

Pricing, Colors and Production

Pricing for the Launch Edition was not disclosed. For reference, the 2026 Silverado RST starts at around $51,300, excluding destination charges.

The Launch Edition is offered in Summit White, Black, Sterling Gray Metallic or White Sands. It is available through Callaway’s and Waldoch’s authorized Chevrolet dealer networks, with production limited to 100 examples.

The trucks are backed by 3-year/36,000-mile Callaway and Waldoch warranties.
