The Aston Martin Valhalla could soon take an open-top form, with the Aston Martin Valhalla Spider reportedly set to debut as early as November 2026 as deliveries of the supercar’s coupe version are already underway.
Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Could Arrive in 2026
Automakers typically stagger model rollouts to give individual products time in the spotlight. With the Valhalla already entering customer deliveries, the supercar could soon expand into a Spider version.
The open-top model is expected to be more limited than the Valhalla coupe, which is capped at 999 examples. Such a configuration would place the Valhalla Spider alongside plug-in hybrid supercar rivals including the Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider.
The Lamborghini Revuelto does not yet have an open-top version, although it recently received a more track-oriented SV version.
The Valhalla Spider May Use a Targa Roof
According to The Supercar Blog, citing industry sources, the Valhalla Spider could use a targa-top configuration rather than a traditional convertible setup.
A targa roof typically features a fixed rear section and a removable roof panel. That configuration would provide an open-air driving experience while retaining part of the roof structure.
The design could also retain the coupe’s roof scoop, which supplies air to the cooling systems and engine.
1,064-HP Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain
The PHEV supercar is equipped with a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with three electric motors. The powertrain produces a combined output of approximately 1,064 horsepower.
That output puts the Valhalla in the same league as the Ferrari 849 Testarossa and Lamborghini Revuelto. The same powertrain is expected to carry over to the Spider.
As with many open-top versions, the Valhalla Spider could carry a weight penalty. However, its carbon-fiber construction may help keep any increase modest.
For reference, Aston Martin quotes a dry weight of 1,655 kg, or about 3,649 pounds, for the coupe.
Valhalla Spider Pricing and Production
The report did not specify how many Aston Martin Valhalla Spiders could be produced. The new version should help expand the model’s appeal, particularly among customers willing to trade some performance for an open-top driving experience.
Open-top versions are also typically more expensive than their coupe counterparts. Pricing for the Valhalla Spider has not been announced, while the Valhalla coupe reportedly starts at around $1 million.
The Valhalla Spider would also give customers an option for an open-top Aston Martin supercar without moving to the more extreme Valkyrie Spider, which is limited to just 85 examples.
