Saudi Arabia is entering the automotive manufacturing business with Ceer, its first homegrown automotive brand, and the company’s first models: the Exobot sedan and SUV. Developed as a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, the electric vehicles feature futuristic designs and tri-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains producing 850 horsepower.

Ceer Brings Established Automotive Partners Together

Although the Exobots represent Saudi Arabia’s first effort as a domestic automaker, Ceer’s business involves organizations with established automotive and technology operations.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has backed Lucid Motors since 2018, while Lucid already assembles electric vehicles at its plant in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). Foxconn, meanwhile, is best known for assembling iPhones and already operates an EV business through Foxtron.

Ceer has also hired former McLaren design director Rob Melville to lead its design department. Companies including BMW, Rimac and Hyundai Transys are contributing component technology and electric drive systems.

Exobot EVs Deliver 850 Horsepower

Both the Exobot sedan and SUV feature an 800-volt EV architecture and a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system capable of producing 850 horsepower.

The sedan can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV completes the same run in 2.9 seconds.

The SUV has a claimed range of 560 km (347 miles), which is 110 km (68 miles) less than the sedan. Those figures are based on NEDC testing standards, which are typically more generous than the EPA standards used in the U.S.

Using a DC fast charger, both EVs can recharge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.

Futuristic Design and High-Tech Interior

The Exobot models feature wedge-shaped bodies and gullwing-style “Shahin Wing” doors, a design formula famously used by the DeLorean DMC-12.

Inside, the EVs feature a 48-inch curved pillar-to-pillar 8K display, a 10.4-inch central control screen and a yoke-style steering wheel paired with a steer-by-wire system.

Ceer Plans More Models by 2030

The sedan and SUV will initially be sold as limited First Edition models, followed by the more customizable Exobot Plus.

At its highest specification, Ceer says the Exobot will produce 1,111 horsepower, bringing it closer to the Lucid Air Sapphire, which delivers 1,234 hp.

Ceer has not disclosed pricing. Sales are scheduled to begin in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, while it remains unclear whether the Exobot models will be offered in the U.S.

The company said the vehicles were “developed specifically to suit the conditions of Saudi Arabia and the region.”

Ceer also plans to expand its lineup to seven vehicles by 2030, including models with different powertrain types aimed at different market demands.
