Mazda is expanding its presence in professional football with a new multi-year partnership with the Los Angeles Chargers, marking the Japanese automaker’s inaugural collaboration with an NFL franchise.
Mazda and Chargers Launch Multi-Year Partnership
The partnership will focus on recognizing educators and mentors who play an important role in supporting local youth and strengthening communities across Southern California.
“At Mazda, we’re dedicated to supporting local communities and building meaningful connections close to home,” said Brad Audet, marketing boss at Mazda North American Operations.
Audet said the agreement provides Mazda and its Southern California dealers with a new opportunity to recognize educators and mentors through experiences that reflect the community spirit of the Los Angeles area.
Mazda Named Presenting Sponsor of Chargers Homecoming Game
Mazda will serve as the presenting sponsor of the annual Chargers Legends Homecoming game, scheduled for November 8 against the Houston Texans.
The pregame festivities at SoFi Stadium will feature more than 100 former Bolts players. Wide receiver Anthony Miller and kicker John Carney are also set to be inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame during a halftime ceremony.
Mazda branding will also be featured extensively during home games at the Chargers’ Inglewood venue.
Partnership Highlights Local Educators and Chargers History
As part of Mazda’s Be Moved campaign, four local educators will be recognized for their work. The campaign works with dealers to support the community through various initiatives.
Mazda will also serve as the title sponsor for the Threads of the Past exhibit, which will showcase Chargers uniforms from the past along with iconic moments from the team’s history.
Fans will also have opportunities to visit Mazda dealerships across Southern California for meet-and-greets with accomplished Chargers players.
“This partnership allows us to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of local educators while celebrating the rich history of the Chargers through our former players,” said Chargers President of Business Operations A.G. Spanos.
“Together, we are committed to creating unforgettable experiences that recognize those who uplift our neighborhoods and inspire future generations.”
The multi-year agreement marks Mazda’s first partnership with an NFL franchise and expands the automaker’s sports sponsorship efforts into the NFL through a community-focused collaboration with the Los Angeles Chargers.
