The 2027 Toyota Grand Highlander enters the new model year with a reshuffled lineup, modest price increases and new trim options rather than a major overhaul. The three-row SUV continues to offer multiple powertrains, seating for eight and available all-wheel drive, while Toyota changes how those features are packaged.

What’s New for the 2027 Grand Highlander
For 2027, Toyota allows buyers to select all-wheel drive on the gas-powered LE, XLE and Limited without bundling it into a package.
The hybrid lineup is also revised. The Hybrid Nightshade Edition and Hybrid MAX Limited are discontinued, while Toyota keeps the Hybrid MAX powertrain exclusive to the Platinum trim.
A new Hybrid Woodland AWD joins the lineup at $51,780, positioned between the Hybrid Limited and Hybrid MAX Platinum.
Powertrains Carry Over
The Grand Highlander’s powertrain lineup remains unchanged. The gas model uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 265 horsepower, while the standard hybrid produces 245 horsepower.
The Hybrid MAX remains the most powerful option, producing 362 horsepower.
For 2027, XLE trims receive a heated steering wheel and 18-inch dark gray wheels. The gas Platinum gets new wheels, while the Hybrid MAX Platinum adds black exterior trim.
Grand Highlander Hybrid Woodland Arrives
The new Grand Highlander Hybrid Woodland brings Toyota’s Woodland treatment to the brand’s largest three-row SUV. It combines a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive and adds 18-inch matte-black wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.
Taller springs and the larger tires provide the Woodland with half an inch more ground clearance than the regular Grand Highlander.
The Woodland also includes a removable second-row cooler, all-weather mats, roof rails with crossbars, LED fog lights, mud guards and a tow hitch. Inside, it adds a 120V outlet and a cargo tray with pop-up dividers for carrying family gear.
Black badges and exterior accents give the Woodland a distinct appearance without turning the Grand Highlander into a dedicated off-road vehicle.
Features and Availability
The 2027 Grand Highlander continues to offer seating for eight, a third row designed to accommodate adults and up to 97.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down.
Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB-C ports and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
The Woodland joins the LE, XLE, Limited and Platinum trims, giving the 2027 Grand Highlander lineup coverage across its available powertrains. Toyota continues to build the SUV in Princeton, Indiana, with 2027 models expected to reach dealerships before the end of the year.
