The Toyota Venza has reached an unusual point in its run in the U.S. market, with just one unit sold in September 2026 as Toyota continues to sell the remaining vehicles from the discontinued model.
Toyota Venza Records One Sale in September
Toyota still has a small number of Venza SUVs available at a few dealers around the country, even though the model was discontinued a couple of years ago. The remaining inventory is being sold gradually.
In September 2026, just one Toyota Venza was sold. That makes it Toyota’s lowest-selling model for the month based on the reported sales figures.
The Venza is not the only discontinued vehicle to record a single sale during September. Lexus also sold one RC, another discontinued model.
The Venza’s year-to-date numbers are even lower. Toyota has sold a total of just 11 Venzas so far this year, including the two units sold the previous month that pushed its 2026 total into double digits.
By comparison, the Lexus RC has recorded 239 sales this year, exceeding the Venza, Lexus LS and Toyota Mirai. The Mirai remains on sale in California.
Where the Venza Fit in Toyota’s Lineup
The Toyota Venza occupied a narrow position between several models in the automaker’s lineup. It was positioned as a more upscale alternative to the RAV4 hybrid while remaining smaller than the Highlander and less luxurious than the Lexus RX.
The Venza was also the twin of the Japanese-market Toyota Harrier. The Harrier and Lexus RX had previously been twins before the RX separated with its third generation.
Although the Venza never became a major seller for Toyota, its sales were not always as low as its current figures suggest. In its last full year on the market, Toyota sold more than 32,000 Venzas.
Toyota Crown Signia Takes Over the Niche
Toyota did not leave the Venza’s position in its lineup completely open. Instead, the automaker brought the wagon-like variant of the Crown to the U.S. under the name Crown Signia.
The Crown Signia has a different shape from the Venza, but the two models share a similar purpose and powertrain approach. The Crown Signia is a premium crossover powered by a hybrid four-cylinder rather than the high-output turbocharged engine available in the regular Crown.
Crown Signia Sales Remain Modest
The Venza’s sales were never particularly strong, but the Crown Signia has recorded lower numbers since taking its place in the lineup.
Toyota sold about 20,000 Crown Signia models in 2025, roughly 30% fewer than the Venza sold during its final full year.
So far in 2026, the Crown Signia is tracking at a similar level to last year. Its sales are up by a little more than 1,500 units, while the discontinued Venza has reached only 11 sales for the year.
With Toyota continuing to sell the remaining Venza inventory, the model’s September 2026 result leaves it at just one sale for the month and 11 for the year.
