The 2026 Camry sales figures show Toyota’s midsize sedan maintaining a substantial lead over the Honda Accord, but Honda is closing the gap. Both sedans have increased sales this year, with the Accord recording significantly stronger growth through September.

Camry Leads Accord Through September 2026

Toyota sold 25,350 Camry sedans in September 2026, a 3.4% increase. Through the first nine months of the year, Camry sales reached 260,684 units, up 11.2% from the same period.

Honda sold 16,507 Accords in September, representing a 27.7% increase. Calendar year-to-date sales stood at 145,521 units, up 32.7%.

That leaves the Camry 115,163 units ahead of the Accord through September 2026. The gap remains substantial, but it has narrowed compared with the same point in 2025, when the Camry held a 124,749-unit advantage.

Accord Hybrid Demand Continues

Toyota now sells only hybrid Camry sedans, while Honda continues to offer a cheaper ICE Accord. In the third quarter of 2026, hybrids accounted for 44% of all Accord sales, indicating continued demand for the lower-priced gas-powered model.

The Camry is also Toyota’s best-selling vehicle of 2026, due in part to supply issues affecting the RAV4 crossover.

Both sedans remain well ahead of their rivals. Kia, for example, sold only 58,681 K5 sedans through September.

2026 Camry vs. Honda Accord: Which Should You Buy?

Both the Camry and Accord offer a combination of comfort, reliability and value. The Honda starts at $28,395 because it remains available with a non-hybrid powertrain, while the 2026 Camry starts at $29,600 and comes with a hybrid powertrain that is more powerful and efficient than the Accord at the same price.

The Camry achieves up to 51 mpg combined, slightly ahead of the Accord Hybrid’s 48 mpg combined rating. Toyota also offers all-wheel drive, an option that is not available on the Accord.

The Honda is slightly nicer to drive, with sharper handling and a smooth ride, while the two sedans perform similarly when equipped with hybrid powertrains.

For buyers limited to a $30,000 budget, the Camry offers a strong combination of performance and efficiency. Above $35,000, the Accord’s premium feel may make it more appealing to some buyers.

Despite the continued popularity of crossovers, the 2026 sales figures for the Camry and Accord show that affordable midsize sedans continue to attract substantial demand in the U.S. market.
