Nissan U.S. sales increased 7.8% year over year in the third quarter, marking another period of sustained growth for Nissan Group as strong demand for Nissan and Infiniti vehicles continues to support the automaker’s recovery plan.

Nissan Delivers Another Quarter of Sales Growth

Nissan remained America’s fastest-growing mainstream automotive brand for the 13th consecutive month and recorded its 19th consecutive month of year-over-year retail sales growth.

Nissan brand retail sales increased 6.8% during the quarter, while September retail sales climbed 13.2%. The company said the results were driven by strong customer demand across its core truck and SUV lineup.

Frontier, Armada and Rogue Lead Nissan Growth

The Nissan Frontier continued to stand out among the company’s trucks, with retail sales increasing 44% year over year. Nissan currently has a single pickup truck in its lineup after the larger Titan was discontinued following the 2024 model year.

The Armada and Rogue SUVs also posted strong gains, with retail sales increasing 42% and 41%, respectively.

The Pathfinder also delivered a strong quarter, recording its second-best third-quarter retail sales performance ever.

Nissan attributed the results to a focus on retail sales and prioritizing customer demand through its dealer network while reducing rental fleet volume. Rental fleet sales declined 45% year over year during the quarter and were down 33% year to date.

The automaker expects sales growth to continue as it prepares to launch the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid in November.

Infiniti Retail Sales Jump 21%

Infiniti also posted significant gains, with retail sales rising 21% year over year during the quarter. That represented the brand’s strongest quarter-over-quarter retail sales growth since 1999.

The QX60 was Infiniti’s volume leader during the quarter. Meanwhile, the all-new QX65 recorded a 22% sales increase in September compared with August and accounted for 32% of retail sales volume.

The range-topping QX80 recorded its best-ever September and third-quarter retail sales performances. The results helped Infiniti become the fastest-growing brand in the luxury full-size SUV segment.

Nissan Expands U.S.-Built Vehicle Sales

A major part of Nissan Group’s long-term restructuring and growth plan is its “build where you sell” strategy. The automaker expects U.S. vehicle assembly to reach 80% by 2030.

Nissan and Infiniti vehicles currently assembled at the company’s Tennessee and Mississippi factories accounted for nearly 60% of combined sales through September, an increase of 9% from a year ago.

U.S.-built models include the Nissan Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder, Frontier and Altima, along with the Infiniti QX60 and QX65.

Nissan Reports Higher Customer Loyalty

Nissan also said it recorded “the largest increase in customer loyalty among major automakers,” with loyalty rising 3.9 percentage points calendar-year-to-date through July.

The company also improved inventory efficiency as part of its efforts to support long-term dealer profitability and sustainable growth. The latest sales results add to the momentum Nissan Group has reported during its restructuring and growth efforts.
