The 2027 GMC Sierra HD is entering six-figure territory, with the most expensive configuration reaching $100,595 when equipped with the new diesel engine. GMC has released partial pricing for the heavy-duty pickup, along with details on its upgraded gas engine and new turbodiesel Duramax.
2027 GMC Sierra HD Pricing
GMC has so far released pricing only for the 2027 Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab with four-wheel drive. Pricing for rear-wheel-drive models, single and double cabs, and Sierra 3500 HD variants has not yet been announced.
The 2027 Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab 4WD lineup starts at $57,495 for the Pro and rises to $99,395 for the Denali Ultimate. All prices include GMC’s destination freight charge.

Every trim except the Denali Ultimate comes standard with a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine. The Denali Ultimate gets the new 8.3-liter V8 turbodiesel Duramax as standard, while the engine costs $11,400 on the other trims.
That makes the AT4X equipped with the diesel the most expensive Sierra HD configuration, at $100,595. Assuming the lower trims receive the same $900 increase, the Regular Cab Pro without additional options is expected to cost around $51,000.
How the Sierra HD Compares With the Ford F-250
The 2027 Ford F-250 XL Crew Cab with 4×4 costs $55,935 with destination, making it slightly less expensive than the equivalent Sierra HD. At the top of the lineup, the most expensive F-250 Crew Cab Platinum with 4×4 costs $82,410.
GMC’s top Sierra HD offers considerably more equipment, particularly in Denali Ultimate form.
New Engines Bring More Power
The biggest change for the 2027 Sierra HD is its updated powertrain lineup. The upgraded 6.6-liter V8 now produces 412 horsepower and a class-leading 472 lb-ft of torque.
The new 8.3-liter V8 Duramax turbodiesel produces 555 horsepower and 1,230 lb-ft of torque. Both figures are higher than those of Ford’s high-output Power Stroke diesel.
With the new diesel engine, the Sierra HD can tow up to 38,000 pounds. GMC has also added larger 14.6-inch front brake rotors and a new calibration for the truck’s Tow/Haul modes to further improve towing confidence.
New Steering and AT4X Upgrades
The Sierra HD also introduces a segment-first rack-and-pinion electric power steering design. According to the source, the system improves control in on- and off-road conditions while operating more quietly under the hood.
The AT4X receives improved DSSV dampers and a trim-exclusive Terrain Mode, making it the most capable off-road trim in the lineup.
Luxury Remains a Key Part of the Sierra HD
GMC has not made major design or interior changes for 2027, so buyers can expect similar 13.4-inch touchscreen displays.
The Denali Ultimate continues to emphasize luxury, with wood trim, power front seats with massage, leather upholstery, a Bose premium sound system and illuminated power assist steps.
2027 GMC Sierra HD Availability
The 2027 GMC Sierra HD will be available late in 2026. Unlike the 2027 Sierra 1500, the Sierra HD is not receiving a full redesign.
The source expects GMC to fully update the HD models a year or so from now, when they are likely to adopt the design language and technology of the 1500.
