The 2027 BMW iX3 M60 xDrive is set to bring BMW M-inspired performance to the automaker’s electric crossover lineup, with dual motors producing 603 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. BMW says the all-wheel-drive EV will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 149 mph.

BMW iX3 M60 Delivers 603 Horsepower

BMW had already produced 50,000 iX3 EVs by July of this year. After building on that momentum with discounts, the automaker reached 100,000 orders for the premium crossover last month.

As 2026 enters its final quarter, BMW is expanding the lineup with the high-performance iX3 M60 xDrive. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 603 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque.

That output gives the iX3 M60 100 more horsepower than the previous twin-turbocharged straight-six F97 X3 M Competition and 127 more than the base X3 M.

2027 BMW iX3 M60 Performance and Handling

BMW says the iX3 M60 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, while its top speed is 149 mph.

The performance-focused crossover uses BMW’s “Heart of Joy” powertrain controller alongside BMW M Dynamic Performance control. BMW has recalibrated the motors and their power delivery specifically for the M-inspired range-topper.

The same performance treatment will also apply to the i3 M60 sedan, although BMW has not yet confirmed its performance figures.

The iX3 M60 comes standard with Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering with model-specific front-axle anti-roll bar links, and an electronic M Sport rear differential. M Sport brakes with red or blue calipers are also available.

BMW has also added front-end braces to increase stiffness. The company has not mentioned a drift function for the iX3 M60.

To make the driving experience feel more organic, BMW developed unique speed-sensitive sounds and added steering-wheel shift paddles that adjust the motors’ responses. M Sport and M Sport Plus modes are specific to this variant.

Battery and Charging

The iX3 M60 uses an 800-volt electrical system and a 112.2 kWh usable battery. That is slightly larger than the 108.7 kWh battery in the iX3 50 xDrive.

Like the iX3 50 xDrive, the M60 has a maximum charging rate of 400 kW. BMW has not announced a range figure for the iX3 M60, while the iX3 50 xDrive has a 434-mile estimate.

The M60 also retains the iX3’s ability to stop without occupants noticeably feeling the braking, along with Level 2 driver aids.

BMW iX3 M60 Styling Updates

The iX3 M60 xDrive receives several M-specific exterior details, including optional M Yellow Lights for the frontal running lights. The design element was borrowed from the M Hybrid V8 LMDh race car and is now appearing on cars with M badges.

The lighting elements on either side of the stretched kidney grille feature three accents inspired by BMW M stripes, while the M logo is incorporated into the light signature. The normally optional BMW Iconic Glow is also included, and the taillights feature their own triple-element accents.

BMW also offers different animation styles for the headlights and taillights. Black roof rails, black M mirror caps with M stripes and M badges on the front doors add further M-specific details.

Standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels, while 22-inch wheels are available as an option. Slightly bulging rear arches, a black diffuser-style panel and an M roof spoiler complete the exterior treatment.

BMW says the spoiler increases downforce but has not provided a figure.

Inside the 2027 BMW iX3 M60

The iX3 M60 uses the same Panoramic iDrive setup found in other Neue Klasse BMWs, including a pillar-to-pillar driver display, a central “free-cut” touchscreen and a squared-circle steering wheel.

The steering wheel is an M Sport unit with a red noon marker. Adaptive M Sport seats offer 10 levels of adjustability, massage functions and illuminated M logos, while M graphics appear on the displays and the passenger-side dashboard.

Audio comes from a 430-watt Harman Kardon system with 13 speakers and Dolby Atmos support.

BMW offers seven upholstery choices. The standard BMW M interior design uses black Veganza seat covers with M PerformTex faux suede.

The Contemporary theme is available with Veganza imitation leather in Black, Castanea, Digital White or Agave Green. BMW Individual offers a combination of Veganza and real Merino leather, while M Sport Seats can be specified in duo-tone Adelaide Grey.

2027 BMW iX3 M60 U.S. Availability

BMW has not announced pricing for the iX3 M60. The iX3 50 xDrive starts at $61,500, while the M60 variant is expected to edge beyond $65,000.

Production of the iX3 M60 will begin at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary in spring 2027. Orders for U.S. customers will open at the end of January next year.

BMW has also provided the first images of the new iX4. Details are expected to mirror the iX3 range, with multiple powertrains, including an M60.
