Clayton Lloyd Iley, a 41-year-old businessman from Stephenville, Texas, has been sentenced to 160 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The case involved a financial scheme that authorities said funded a collection of more than 90 exotic and collector vehicles.

U.S. District Court Judge Mark Pittman handed down the 13-year sentence following Iley’s guilty plea. Authorities said the vehicles were purchased with funds obtained through his fraudulent activities and will be liquidated at auction to provide restitution to his victims.

How Iley Funded His 90-Car Collection

According to Justice Department records, Iley operated a Texas insurance brokerage from January 2020 through May 2026, accepting premiums from clients for insurance policies he never initiated.

He also operated a fabricated private military contractor business and promoted a nonexistent U.S. Department of Defense loan program. Through the scheme, Iley collected more than $2 million from investors while also using stolen identities to open unauthorized credit cards.

The proceeds helped finance a private garage containing more than 90 exotic and collector vehicles. Authorities said the entire fleet was funded through illegal activities.

Exotic Cars Listed for Government Forfeiture

The preliminary forfeiture order details a collection that includes several high-end performance and collector vehicles.

  • A 2012 Lamborghini Aventador
  • Two 2015 Lamborghini Huracans
  • Two Ferrari 488s
  • Three 2022 Maserati MC20s
  • A 2021 Porsche Taycan
  • A 2014 Dodge SRT Viper
  • A 1968 Pontiac Firebird

The collection also included vehicles connected to the military persona Iley presented through his fabricated business. Authorities listed a 1990 BMY M923A tactical truck and two vintage AM General models among the seized vehicles.

Vehicles to Be Sold at Auction

Authorities said the vehicles acquired through Iley’s fraudulent activities will be liquidated at auction, with the proceeds intended to provide restitution to the people who were defrauded.

The FBI and local police unraveled the financial trail connecting the vehicles to the underlying scheme. The forfeiture order provides the government’s preliminary accounting of the high-value automotive assets tied to the case.

Federal Sentence Follows Guilty Plea

Iley’s sentence follows his guilty plea to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. Judge Mark Pittman sentenced him to 160 months in federal prison, or 13 years, for his role in the scheme.

The case ultimately involved a multimillion-dollar fraud operation, stolen identities and a collection of more than 90 exotic and collector vehicles that authorities said were purchased with illegally obtained funds.
