General Motors has announced major updates for the 2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trax, including the debut of the 2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 and a streamlined trim lineup for the Trax. Chevrolet says the two models are having their best sales year ever, contributing to more than 250,000 vehicle deliveries year-to-date through the third quarter of 2026.
Three years after the pair debuted, Chevrolet is adding more safety features, updated electrical and software architecture, refined styling and a new interior color for the 2027 model year.
2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 Adds Adventure-Focused Upgrades
The 2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 will serve as the model’s entry-level adventure-ready all-wheel-drive trim. It adds an off-road-tuned suspension system, an underbody skid plate and sport-terrain tires, along with Z71 badging throughout the vehicle.
The Z71 logo also appears on the debossed front-row headrests. The seats can now be finished in Jet Black and Story Gray upholstery with vibrant Orange accents, while a new Storm Sky Gray interior color will also be available.
Chevrolet has also introduced a new column-mounted shifter, allowing the Trailblazer to use a redesigned center console with additional storage options, including retractable cupholders. Passengers in the rear also gain additional HVAC vents.
An AutoSense power liftgate will be available as an option, adding another convenience feature to the updated Trailblazer.
More Than 20 Standard Safety Features
The updated electrical and software architecture enables more than 20 standard safety features and driver-assistance systems on the 2027 Trailblazer. Newly standard features include reverse automatic braking, Safety Seat Alert, Side Bicyclist Alert, rear cross-traffic braking, front park assist, a rear seat belt indicator and intersection automatic emergency braking.
The Trailblazer also receives a standard 11-inch driver information display paired with an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. The infotainment system can now support OnStar One.
2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 Availability and Pricing
Chevrolet says the updated Trailblazer will be available beginning in spring 2027. Pricing has not yet been announced.
For the 2026 model year, the Trailblazer lineup ranges from $23,600 to $29,995 before destination charges or options. The pricing for the new Z71 trim remains unconfirmed.
2027 Chevrolet Trax Gets a Streamlined Lineup
The 2027 Chevrolet Trax will also receive significant updates, including a simplified three-trim lineup. Rather than the 2026 model’s LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS and ACTIV trims, the 2027 Trax will be offered in base, RS and ACTIV forms.
The Trax receives the same newly standard safety features as the 2027 Trailblazer, along with the new interior screens and access to the Storm Sky Gray interior color.
Trax Gets Revised Exterior and Interior Styling
Chevrolet is also updating the Trax’s exterior with a new grille and new wheel designs. Full-LED taillights and a revised liftgate are also part of the changes, with the liftgate powered for the first time.
Inside, the Trax replaces its round HVAC vents with new hexagonal designs, giving the cabin a more modern appearance.
2027 Chevrolet Trax Availability and Pricing
The 2027 Chevrolet Trax will arrive in spring 2027, with pricing still to be announced. The 2026 Trax starts at $21,700 and reaches $25,700 in ACTIV trim.
Both the updated Trailblazer and Trax are scheduled to arrive in spring 2027, with Chevrolet yet to reveal their 2027 pricing.
