Two teenagers were arrested in Auburn, Massachusetts, after allegedly stealing two Dodge Chargers, speeding at more than 100 mph and crashing during an attempted escape from police. The incident began around 3:12 a.m. on October 1, when officers spotted the vehicles traveling at 60 mph in a 40-mph zone, according to the Auburn, MA Police Department.

Police Spot Stolen Dodge Chargers Traveling at 60 MPH

The incident unfolded in the early morning hours of October 1, when Auburn police noticed two Dodge Chargers traveling above the posted speed limit. Officers clocked the vehicles at 60 mph in a 40-mph zone.

When an officer activated the cruiser’s emergency lights, the drivers allegedly accelerated and quickly exceeded 100 mph. According to the Auburn, MA Police Department, the vehicles’ engines roared as the teenagers attempted to evade officers.

Recognizing the danger posed by the high-speed driving, police decided to terminate the pursuit rather than continue chasing the vehicles at extreme speeds.

One Dodge Charger Crashes During the Escape

The attempt to escape quickly unraveled when one of the stolen Dodge Chargers crashed. Rather than abandon the getaway, the driver reportedly transferred to the other stolen vehicle and continued fleeing with his accomplice.

The teenagers then drove back into Auburn instead of continuing away from the area. Officers deployed stop sticks across the roadway, puncturing the vehicle’s tires and leading to another crash.

Police Drone and K9 Help Locate Suspects

After the second crash, the suspects fled on foot. Police used a drone and a trained K9 unit to track them down following a brief foot chase.

The two suspects were identified as 18-year-old Jaelen Cannon Feraud and his 16-year-old accomplice.

High-Speed Getaway Ends After Two Crashes

The incident involved two allegedly stolen Dodge Chargers, speeds exceeding 100 mph, two crashes and an attempt to escape on foot. Auburn police ultimately located both teenagers using additional resources after ending the high-speed pursuit.

The episode highlights how quickly a vehicle theft can escalate into a dangerous situation when drivers attempt to evade law enforcement at extreme speeds.
