The 2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible has been spotted testing near the Nürburgring, revealing a roof-down version of the performance-focused coupe with aggressive styling, rear-wheel drive and a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The upcoming convertible is expected to retain the coupe’s core performance specifications while adapting its design and aerodynamics to accommodate a retractable fabric roof.
2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible Design
The Continental GT Supersports Convertible looks nearly identical to the coupe, apart from several changes required by its fabric roof. The convertible’s roofline sits flatter before dropping away more sharply toward the rear, creating a steeper angle and a smaller rear window than the coupe’s design.
The convertible also features a shutline marking the panel that conceals the roof-folding mechanisms. Viewed from the side, the altered proportions create an almost longtail-like appearance.
Another visible difference involves the side skirts. Although the prototype retains the coupe’s cutaway front bumper and aerodynamic flics designed to direct airflow over the front wheelhouses, it lacks the carbon-fiber barge boards and skirts positioned behind the wheel arches.
Because this is the first sighting of the Supersports Convertible, more advanced prototypes could introduce additional changes, including new fenders and rocker panels. Otherwise, the car closely resembles the hardtop, retaining the same wheelbase and overhangs, recessed bodywork behind the rear wheels, a substantial trunk-lid spoiler and sharp exhaust tips integrated into an angular diffuser panel.
2027 Bentley Supersports Convertible Engine and Performance
The Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible is expected to share its powertrain specifications with the coupe. Rather than using a plug-in hybrid system, the two-seater is expected to rely on a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
The convertible’s electronically folding fabric roof will add weight compared with the coupe, potentially making it slightly slower than the hardtop’s 0-to-62-mph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. The coupe’s top speed of 192 mph could carry over to the convertible.
The two-seat model is also expected to feature carbon-ceramic brakes, 22-inch forged wheels and a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič.
2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible Production and Price
Bentley produced just 500 Continental GT Supersports coupes, but it remains unclear whether the convertible will have a higher, lower or equally limited production run.
Production is expected to begin before the end of 2026 for the 2027 model year, although the timeline has not been confirmed. Pricing is also expected to exceed the coupe’s asking price of nearly $500,000.
The upcoming convertible will bring the Supersports formula to an open-top configuration, with its final design, performance figures, production numbers and pricing still to be determined.
