Some Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing owners who purchased the $18,000 Precision Package may be missing critical rear suspension components intended to be delivered with their vehicles. General Motors (GM) has issued a Customer Satisfaction Program bulletin, N262573420, addressing the issue in collaboration with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The problem involves supplementary performance toe links that were supposed to be included in the trunk of certain vehicles equipped with the Precision Package. GM’s bulletin outlines the missing components and instructs dealers on how to address the situation.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package Parts Missing
According to GM’s Customer Satisfaction Program bulletin, certain Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing vehicles were delivered without the additional rear suspension toe links included with the Precision Package.
The document describes the issue as follows: “Certain vehicles listed above, equipped with the Precision Package, may be missing the supplementary performance toe links that were to be delivered in the vehicle’s trunk.”
The bulletin identifies three types of missing components that should have been included in the package:
- Quantity: 2 — Link Assembly-RR Suspension, Part No. 85829248
- Quantity: 2 — Bolt, Part No. 11611276
- Quantity: 2 — Bolt, Part No. 11609598
Dealers have been advised not to order the missing parts for stock. Instead, they must identify the specific customers affected by the bulletin. Those customers will receive a mailing advisory notifying them about the missing components.
The prescribed remedy is straightforward: place the missing parts in the vehicle’s trunk. The bulletin does not specify the exact number of affected vehicles, although GM believes the issue involves only a small batch.
What the Cadillac Precision Package Includes
Cadillac’s Precision Package is an $18,000 performance-oriented option designed primarily to improve the CT5-V Blackwing’s chassis for track use. The upgrade significantly changes the car’s suspension and handling characteristics.
The package includes a reworked and stiffened suspension system, new steering knuckles, rear suspension links, carbon-ceramic brakes and a digital software retune that changes how the limited-slip differential responds.
The missing rear suspension links are among the performance components intended to be supplied with the package. Their omission has prompted GM to identify affected customers and arrange for the missing parts to be provided.
GM’s Customer Satisfaction Program bulletin addresses the missing components through a targeted notification process, with dealers instructed to identify affected owners and ensure the parts are placed in the vehicles’ trunks.
