The Honda Passport Baja Spec is preparing to take on the desert, with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) set to compete in the 2027 Score World Desert Championship. The race truck will be unveiled on October 29, 2026, before appearing at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from November 3 to 6, giving enthusiasts a chance to see the heavily reengineered Passport in person.

The upcoming race truck is expected to feature 1,300 horsepower, massive tires and advanced off-road technology drawn from Honda’s motorsports programs. Two-time Baja 1000 winner Bryce Menzies will drive the vehicle as Honda prepares to return to desert competition in 2027.

Honda Passport Baja Spec Prepares for Its Debut

The first teaser offers a side-profile silhouette of the Honda Passport Trophy Truck, providing an early look at a machine that appears dramatically different from the production SUV on which it is based.

Although the full design remains under wraps, the truck’s silhouette suggests extensive modifications for desert racing. The Passport nameplate remains visible on the side, identifying the vehicle despite the substantial changes made for its Baja-specific configuration.

With 1,300 horsepower under the hood and Honda’s latest off-road performance technologies, the Baja Spec is being developed for the demands of competitive desert racing. Menzies, a two-time Baja 1000 winner, is set to pilot the truck.

HRC Returns to Desert Racing in 2027

Honda has an extensive record in Baja competition, particularly in motorcycle racing. The manufacturer has secured 22 victories in Baja-spec motorcycle history, along with numerous class wins.

The company has also expanded its success into four-wheel racing, recording 17 class victories since 2015. That total includes four wins at the Baja 1000 and five at the Baja 500.

Now, Honda Racing Corporation is setting its sights on the 2027 Score World Desert Championship, with the Passport Baja Spec serving as its latest effort in desert competition.

Race Truck Incorporates Honda Motorsports Technology

The Honda Passport Baja Spec will draw on technologies developed across Honda’s motorsports programs, including Formula 1, IndyCar and IMSA, alongside the company’s established experience in desert rally racing.

HRC U.S. oversees Honda’s racing efforts and engineers vehicles for competition at the highest levels. The Passport project brings that motorsports expertise to a purpose-built desert race truck.

Although the teaser reveals only a portion of the vehicle, the combination of extensive reengineering, oversized tires and a 1,300-horsepower engine distinguishes the Baja Spec from the standard Passport.

Honda Passport Baja Spec Reveal Dates

The Honda Passport Baja Spec will make its initial appearance at a private event in Downtown Los Angeles on October 29, 2026. The event will be hosted by Menzies.

Following the private unveiling, the truck will be displayed publicly at the Honda Racing Corporation booth during the 2026 SEMA Show, scheduled for November 3-6, 2026.

The two appearances will provide the first opportunities to see Honda’s new desert racing truck ahead of its planned campaign in the 2027 Score World Desert Championship.
