Mercedes-AMG is making one of its boldest moves yet with the all-new GT 4-Door Coupe, a fully electric performance machine developed from the ground up as an EV. Replacing the previous V8-powered model, the new flagship combines aggressive styling, massive power figures, and ultra-fast charging technology in a package designed to redefine AMG performance for the electric era.

Built on the dedicated AMG.EA platform, the new GT 4-Door Coupe stays true to its predecessor’s sporty identity while introducing a dramatically different powertrain. Despite its coupe-inspired name, the vehicle remains a practical five-door liftback with a tailgate and a striking design heavily inspired by last year’s AMG GT XX concept.

Most Aggressive-Looking AMG EV Yet

The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe features one of the brand’s most aggressive EV designs to date. Up front, a large faux grille with vertical slats creates a commanding appearance, while illuminated three-pointed stars integrated into the headlights and taillights add a distinctive visual signature.

Light bars at both ends further emphasize the car’s wide stance. AMG also incorporated several aerodynamic enhancements, including an active diffuser that extends from the body. Wheel sizes reach up to 21 inches.

Even with its large 106-kWh battery pack mounted underneath the vehicle, the new EV sits four centimeters lower than the outgoing V8-powered model. Combined with its sloping windshield and fastback-style profile, the GT 4-Door Coupe delivers an unmistakably sporty appearance.

Triple-Screen Interior Takes Center Stage

Inside, the cabin is dominated by a large triple-screen layout stretching across the dashboard. The setup includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment display, and a 14-inch passenger screen.

Most vehicle functions are integrated into the center display, although AMG retained three physical knobs aimed at the driver for various adjustments.

Mercedes-AMG will offer both four-seat and five-seat configurations. While official press images showcase two individual rear seats, buyers can also choose a rear bench designed for three passengers.

The liftback design improves practicality by providing easier cargo access. The GT 4-Door Coupe offers 507 liters of cargo space behind the rear seats, while an additional front trunk adds another 62 liters of storage capacity.

Massive Power From Three Electric Motors

Mercedes-AMG is launching the new EV with three electric motors and standard all-wheel drive.

GT 55 Performance Figures

The entry-level GT 55 produces 805 horsepower and 1,800 Newton-meters of torque. According to Mercedes-AMG, the EV can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reach 124 mph in 9 seconds before topping out at 186 mph.

GT 63 Pushes Output Even Higher

The more powerful GT 63 raises output to an astonishing 1,153 horsepower and 2,000 Newton-meters of torque.

Mercedes-AMG says the GT 63 can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.4 seconds and hit 124 mph in 6.8 seconds, while maintaining the same 186-mph top speed.

Fast Charging And Long Driving Range

Beyond its headline-grabbing performance numbers, the GT 4-Door Coupe also delivers impressive charging capability.

The 106-kWh battery supports 600-kW charging speeds, allowing the EV to recover 286 miles of range in just 10 minutes. On a full charge, Mercedes-AMG estimates the vehicle can travel “well over” 435 miles on the WLTP cycle.

AMG Adds Signature V8 Sound Experience

To help preserve the emotional character associated with AMG models, Mercedes says the new EV includes a “highly authentic, AMG signature V8 sound spectacle.” The feature is designed to give drivers a familiar performance feel despite the absence of the brand’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine.

Pricing Details Still To Come

Mercedes-AMG has not announced official pricing for the new GT 4-Door Coupe. However, the company indicated the EV will be priced in a similar range to the outgoing model.

The previous V8-powered GT 4-Door Coupe started at around $160,000, while the inline-six version was priced at just over $100,000.

With extreme performance figures, aggressive styling, and advanced EV technology, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is shaping up to be one of the most attention-grabbing electric performance cars in recent years.
