Ready To Rock, a new book co-written by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Mike Spinelli, traces the evolution of RTR from its founding in 2009 to its current position in the automotive aftermarket. Spanning 256 pages and featuring photography from leading automotive photographers, the book explores the company’s journey through racing, vehicle development, and its expanding collaboration with Ford.

RTR’s Story Told Across 256 Pages

RTR, short for “ready to rock,” has become a recognizable name in automotive culture through its work in both motorsports and vehicle tuning. Ready To Rock documents the company’s growth from a grassroots operation into a significant player in the aftermarket industry.

The book is co-written by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Mike Spinelli and published by Carrara Media, which specializes in books focused on modern car culture. It includes 256 pages alongside photography captured by well-known automotive photographers.

Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Racing Career

The book follows Gittin Jr.’s career beginning in the early 2000s, when professional drifting was emerging in the United States. In 2005, he became the first American to win a D1 Grand Prix event.

He later claimed two Formula Drift championships, earning titles in 2010 and 2020. Gittin Jr. continues to compete in Formula Drift behind the wheel of a Mustang while also making occasional appearances in off-road racing events where RTR competes.

From Aftermarket Parts to High-Profile Vehicle Builds

Beyond racing, RTR expanded into developing aftermarket components for the Ford vehicles it campaigned. The company gradually broadened its offerings to include complete vehicle builds.

Among its best-known projects are Ken Block’s “Hoonicorn” Mustang and the seven-motor Mustang Mach-E 1400. RTR’s customer list also includes rapper T-Pain, who contributed the foreword for the book.

The publication features photography from Larry Chen, Matt Marcu, and Tony Harmer.

Ford Partnership and Book Release

The release of Ready To Rock comes as RTR continues to expand its presence in the automotive industry through a larger partnership with Ford. The automaker now sells RTR-branded versions of the Mustang and Bronco through its dealership network.

Ready To Rock is scheduled to ship on Nov. 2. Pre-orders are available through Carrara in a Standard Edition priced at $54.99 and a Limited Edition priced at $124.99. The Limited Edition is signed by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and limited to 1,000 copies.

The book presents RTR’s history through written accounts and photography, documenting its progression from a racing-focused startup to a company with a growing role in the automotive aftermarket and its partnership with Ford.
