Jeep Scrambler is the subject of new reports suggesting the brand is developing a two-door pickup based on the Wrangler and Gladiator. While Jeep has not confirmed the vehicle, the reported concept combines retro-inspired styling with new design ideas and off-road-focused engineering.
Jeep Scrambler Reportedly Reimagines a Classic Name
According to the reported details, the Jeep Scrambler would be a two-door pickup built on the Wrangler and Gladiator platform.
Unlike the Gladiator’s military-inspired appearance with a lower beltline, the rumored Scrambler would feature a higher beltline and a lower greenhouse to emphasize a more muscular and playful design.
The reported layout uses the four-door Wrangler’s underpinnings but replaces the rear doors with significantly larger front doors, similar to those on a coupe, to improve access to the rear seats.
Reports also suggest the rear cap would be removable. Renderings accompanying the reports illustrate a possible two-seat derivative using the same design themes, although no such model has been confirmed.
Flexible Cabin Could Support Tailgating and Cargo
The reported interior includes rear seats that normally face forward but can be removed after the rear cap is taken off.
According to the reports, the seats could then be repositioned to face backward for tailgating and paired with an integrated step to make entry easier.
With the roof removed, the rear seats could also fold backward to create a flat cargo floor, resulting in a bed larger than the one found in the Gladiator pickup.
