The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee arrives with 600 horsepower, making it 100 horsepower more powerful than the previous-generation Super Bee. But the new Launch Edition does not use a V8. Instead, Dodge has created its fastest and most powerful SIXPACK Charger yet, using a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine upgraded with 56mm Garrett turbochargers running at 30 psi, a larger cooling system and a retuned ECU.
The result is a claimed 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and an 11.8-second quarter-mile. Dodge has also made extensive changes to the Charger’s braking, suspension, drivetrain and styling to support the added performance.
2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Gets Major Hardware Upgrades
The upgraded engine produces 600 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, with peak torque now available as low as 3,000 rpm. That additional output requires stronger and larger half-shafts, while bringing the heavy coupe or sedan to a stop requires more capable brakes.
The Super Bee uses 16-inch Brembo vented discs paired with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. Dodge says the setup provides three times more brake-fade resistance than any other 3.0-liter Charger and twice the resistance of the previous-generation SRT Charger.
Traction is also addressed with 20×11-inch forged wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires measuring 305/35ZR20 at all four corners. A new dual-valve adaptive damping system is designed to reduce body roll through corners, with increased spring rates and a stiffer rear sway bar supporting the setup.
Super Bee Launch Edition Gets Unique Design
The Launch Edition adds exclusive colors, graphics and interior details to the performance upgrades. Buyers get three exterior color choices: new-for-2027 Sucker Punch, Shady and the returning Diamond Black.
The colors can be combined with gloss-black or Sucker Punch bodyside “stinger” graphics, while the brake calipers are finished in Hyper Lime. Super Bee badges appear both inside and outside the car.
Inside, the Launch Edition receives fabric-upholstered bucket seats with Sour Lemon contrast stitching. Citrus Peel tilt-pattern seat inserts match the noon marker on the steering wheel. The shift paddles are also larger, and drivers can switch to rear-wheel drive on the fly using a button on the steering wheel.
New Performance Modes Add Track-Focused Features
The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee also gains Track and Drag modes, along with Torque Reserve for building boost and Race Prep to improve cooling after heavy pulls.
Dodge has equipped the car with a Drive Experience Recorder from Cosworth. The exterior receives a reworked front end with unique headlights and a Fratzog grille badge finished in Dark Neutral Gray.
V8 Question Remains for Dodge Charger Buyers
Despite the extensive engineering behind the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee, the biggest question remains its lack of a V8. The new model delivers significantly more power than the previous-generation Super Bee, but it relies on a twin-turbocharged straight-six instead.
Pricing and order information are not expected until later in the year, so a full assessment will have to wait. The Super Bee is scheduled to appear during Roadkill Nights, which runs throughout the weekend, and Dodge has indicated that it is only the first thing the brand has shown so far.
