The Porsche 911 Turbo S Land Down Under celebrates Porsche’s 75 years in Australia with a one-off Sonderwunsch commission inspired by the country’s landscapes, skies and distinctive character.
A One-Off Porsche Built for Australia
Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program allows customers to work with the brand’s designers, engineers and craftspeople to create highly personalized vehicles. The program’s name means “special request” in German and covers unique paint finishes, hand-built interiors and bespoke details.
For Porsche’s 75th anniversary in Australia, the German marque created the 911 Turbo S Land Down Under with the Sonderwunsch team, Style Porsche and Sydney artist Werner Bronkhorst.
The bespoke sports car draws inspiration from Australia’s natural terrain and the dramatic transition of an Outback sunset from fiery red to deep blue twilight.
Custom Paint Inspired by an Outback Sunset
The exterior features two new Chromaflair paint colors developed specifically for the car: Terra Australis Red and Southern Cross Blue.
The seven-layer paint finish was applied by hand and transitions from an earthy red at the lower sections to deep blue toward the top. The colors also shift depending on the light. The process required more than 300 hours of work.
The car rides on 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels finished in Southern Cross Blue.
Porsche also incorporated several subtle details into the exterior. A ghosted “75” appears in the roof paint, while the active rear spoiler reveals a “See ya later mate” message when the wing is raised.
An Interior Filled With Australian Details
The Australian theme continues inside the cabin with Dark Night Blue leather, custom Coolibah Brown and Australian Silky Oak wood.
The dashboard features topographical graphics taken from the Blue Mountains, while the headliner depicts the Southern Hemisphere night sky as it appeared over Uluru in 1951, the year Porsche landed in Australia.
The seat perforations also draw inspiration from Werner Bronkhorst’s brushstroke style, adding another connection between the vehicle and the artist involved in its creation.
911 Turbo S Performance Beneath the Custom Design
Underneath its bespoke exterior and interior, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Land Down Under retains the performance of the 911 Turbo S. It uses a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine with Porsche’s T-Hybrid system, producing 711 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed PDK transmission. Porsche says the car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 mph.
One-Off Porsche Will Tour Australia
Following its debut in Australia, the one-off 911 Turbo S Land Down Under will travel around the country before becoming a rolling tribute to Porsche’s 75-year milestone in Australia.
As a bespoke Sonderwunsch commission, the Land Down Under is not for sale and does not have an official price of its own. For reference, the production 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe starts at AU$577,300, or roughly $375,000 at current exchange rates, before on-road costs and options.
