The 2027 Lexus ES enters its second model year with higher prices but no changes beyond the increase. The eighth-generation ES, introduced for 2026 with hybrid and fully electric powertrains, has brought a major transformation to Lexus’ luxury sedan, but sales have fallen sharply during the transition.
2027 Lexus ES Pricing: Up, But Only Slightly
Every 2027 Lexus ES trim receives a modest price increase compared with the 2026 model. The increases range from $105 to $110, with the $1,395 destination charge excluded from the prices below.

The relatively small increase comes as new vehicle prices have continued to rise amid inflation, tariffs, and supply-chain disruptions. The restrained adjustment also comes as Lexus deals with a significant decline in ES sales following the arrival of the redesigned generation.
Lexus ES Sales Have Fallen 80 Percent
The ES remained a strong seller in the US in 2025, recording 39,926 deliveries, roughly 7,000 more than the BMW 3 Series. Most of those sales, however, came from the previous-generation model.
The eighth-generation ES is imported from Japan rather than built in the US like its predecessor, and its arrival has coincided with a dramatic sales slowdown. Lexus reported only 3,896 ES sales during the first six months of 2026, an 80 percent decline from the same period a year earlier.
Several factors are cited for the decline. The redesigned ES starts about $5,500 higher than the outgoing model, putting it further out of reach for some buyers. Lexus has also removed conventional gasoline powertrains, leaving customers with hybrid and fully electric choices.
While hybrids continue to gain traction, EV demand has grown much more slowly than many industry forecasts predicted. The slowdown has been significant enough that several automakers have delayed or canceled planned EV programs and shifted resources toward new or updated internal-combustion models that were not originally on their product roadmaps.
EV Remains the Cheapest Lexus ES Option
Because the ES was completely redesigned for 2026, Lexus makes no changes for the 2027 model year beyond the new pricing. The electric ES 350e Premium remains the most affordable version.
The base hybrid carries a $2,195 premium over the base EV. Lexus does not plan to offer a version powered solely by a gas engine.
The ES 350e uses a single front-mounted motor producing 221 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive ES 500e adds a second motor at the rear, bringing combined output to 338 hp.
The EPA estimates up to 307 miles of range for the ES 350e and 276 miles for the ES 500e AWD, both with 19-inch wheels. Larger wheels will reduce those estimates slightly.
The ES 350h combines Toyota’s sixth-generation hybrid system with a 2.5-liter inline-four engine, producing 244 hp in both front- and all-wheel-drive configurations.
2027 Lexus ES Features and Trims
The Premium trim comes equipped with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, and the Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 suite of electronic driver-assist features.
It also includes a 14.0-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker Lexus audio system.
Premium+ adds a 17-speaker, 1,800-watt Mark Levinson system, Panoramic View Monitor, Advanced Park with Remote Park, Digital Key, Traffic Jam Assist, and Lane Change Assist.
The range-topping Luxury trim adds semi-aniline leather, massaging front seats, four-zone climate control, a head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof.
What the 2027 Lexus ES Needs
ES sales should rebound as Lexus gets more eighth-generation vehicles into showrooms and buyers become more accustomed to its hybrid and EV lineup. Stronger supply, greater awareness, and the return of more competitive pricing could help the model recover.
For now, the 2027 Lexus ES carries only modestly higher prices and no changes beyond those increases, leaving Lexus to navigate the sales decline surrounding its redesigned luxury sedan.
