The GTA Nightshark is leaving the virtual world behind. Dartz Motorz is building a fully drivable, 1:1 recreation of Grand Theft Auto Online’s armored HVY Nightshark for a mystery customer who has reportedly paid $1 million for the one-off vehicle.
The GTA Nightshark Is Becoming a Real Vehicle
Grand Theft Auto has featured plenty of outrageous vehicles, but few are as imposing as the HVY Nightshark. According to Rockstar Intel, Latvian manufacturer Dartz is building a road-going version for a private client who has reportedly paid $1 million for the commission.
Rockstar added the Nightshark to GTA Online in 2017, basing it on Dartz’s Black Shark. Nearly a decade later, Dartz is effectively reversing that process by turning Rockstar’s fictional interpretation into a real vehicle.
The completed Nightshark is expected to make its public debut in Miami in November 2026, during the release week of GTA VI. Dartz says production is already nearing completion, while the vehicle’s final name, specifications, interior details and owner’s identity remain under wraps.
The $1 Million GTA Replica Will Be Drivable
Dartz says the one-off Nightshark will be fully functional and capable of being driven, making it more than a display recreation. Founder Leonard F. Yankelovich reportedly viewed Rockstar’s use of the Black Shark as a compliment.
Dartz is now returning that compliment by putting a seven-figure budget toward a real-world version of the game’s creation.
This year has also featured several notable custom and one-off builds for auto enthusiasts and gamers, including the Singer-Louis Vuitton 911, 911 GT2 RS Flachbau and Toy Story-inspired 911s. The real-world Nightshark is set to join that group later this year.
GTA VI Will Feature More Real-Life-Inspired Cars
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles after multiple delays.
Rockstar has not released a complete vehicle list, but real-life-inspired cars confirmed for GTA VI include the Porsche 911, Dodge Viper, Ford Crown Victoria and Ferrari Testarossa.
With the Dartz project nearing completion, one of GTA’s most recognizable vehicles is also set to exist outside the game. Unlike the Nightshark stored in a virtual garage or stationary life-sized replicas, this version will be fully drivable and able to hit the road.
