A virtually new Gordon Murray T.50 with just 62 miles on the odometer is heading to auction, offering buyers a rare example of the limited-production supercar in a one-of-one specification.
A Modern Tribute to the McLaren F1
The McLaren F1 remains one of the defining automotive icons of the 1990s. Designed by Gordon Murray, the original supercar combined F1 technology and performance with a road-going design and became an instant classic among private owners and race car drivers.
After decades of watching the automotive industry evolve, Murray returned with the Gordon Murray T.50, a car developed in the same spirit as the F1. The T.50 stands apart from today’s ultra-modern, technology-focused hypercars by emphasizing lightweight construction and driver-focused engineering.
Only 62 Miles on the Odometer
RM Sotheby’s is currently listing a 2024 Gordon Murray T.50 that has traveled just 62 miles. The car was built to EU specifications and features rare Harrier paintwork over Luffield Tan leather.
The paint has also received PPF treatment for protection. The vehicle is chassis number 047 and was completed in 2024.
Lightweight Design and V12 Power
The T.50 weighs just 997 kilograms (2,198 lbs) and has a footprint equivalent to a Porsche Boxster. Its lightweight construction reflects Gordon Murray’s focus on reducing weight while retaining the features needed in a modern car without unnecessary bulk.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter V12 engine co-developed with Cosworth. The naturally aspirated engine produces 661 hp and weighs only 392 lbs.
The V12 can reach 24,800 revs per minute and has a 12,000-rpm redline despite having no electrification. The T.50 also features a large rear fan inspired by the F1 Fan car, which reduces drag by 12.5% and works with the diffuser to increase downforce.
One of Just 100 T.50s Built
Production of the T.50 was limited to just 100 units. The example offered for sale, chassis number 047, is described as a one-of-one specification and combination.
The car has not been driven beyond its factory test miles, leaving it virtually brand-new with only 62 miles recorded.
Estimated at Up to $6.2 Million
RM Sotheby’s currently estimates the car at $5.6 million (converted) to $6.2 million (converted), approximately $1 million to $2 million above its brand-new price.
Bidding is scheduled to begin on September 24 and conclude one week later on October 1.
