The 2027 Lincoln Corsair is getting a major powertrain and pricing change, as Lincoln drops traditional gasoline power entirely from the compact luxury crossover lineup. The redesigned model will feature a standard all-wheel-drive hybrid system, updated styling and standard BlueCruise hands-free driving technology, while its starting price rises substantially.

2027 Lincoln Corsair Drops Gas-Only Power

The previous base Corsair used a traditional front-wheel-drive gasoline powertrain that kept its entry price relatively low. For the 2027 model year, Lincoln is replacing that approach with a fully electrified lineup centered on a standardized all-wheel-drive hybrid system.

Camouflaged test vehicles had been monitored over the past year as expectations grew for major changes beneath the revised bodywork. The official details confirm the updated hybrid architecture, along with fresh exterior styling and new wheel designs.

Standard BlueCruise hands-free driving technology is also part of the new package, adding to the equipment included with the redesigned crossover.

Lincoln Corsair Price Climbs for 2027

The biggest change for buyers is the elimination of the affordable front-wheel-drive gas engine. According to an ordering guide obtained by CarsDirect, the entry-level Premiere trim now starts at $46,495 before the mandatory destination fee.

That represents a $6,510 increase compared with last year’s base offering. The Reserve trim also rises to $53,495.

Lincoln has also discontinued the previously available plug-in Grand Touring model for the 2027 lineup.

2027 Corsair Production Shifts to China

Another major change involves where the redesigned crossover is assembled for North American consumers. The brand will rely exclusively on imported Chinese production while standardizing the new hybrid architecture across its global manufacturing strategy.

The production shift changes the vehicle’s supply chain logistics as Lincoln moves toward a globally unified premium lineup.

How the Lincoln Corsair Compares With Rivals

Despite the higher starting price, the newly electrified Corsair remains positioned against several competing compact luxury SUVs.

The starting price is slightly above the Lexus NX Hybrid, which begins at $45,175. However, the Corsair remains significantly below plug-in European alternatives, with the Mercedes-Benz GLC 340e and Volvo XC60 T8 PHEV both exceeding the $62,000 mark before optional equipment packages are added.

Lincoln Corsair Hybrid Powertrain

The 2027 Corsair uses a turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with dual electric motors to produce 305 horsepower.

All-wheel drive is standard, eliminating the need for buyers to pay extra for the capability. The new setup also gives customers more standard equipment as Lincoln raises the crossover’s entry price.

With the 2027 update, the Lincoln Corsair combines a higher starting price with a standard hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, updated styling and BlueCruise technology while remaining positioned below several European plug-in alternatives.
