CEER is entering the electric vehicle market with royal backing from Saudi Arabia and two futuristic Exobot models, pairing unusual designs with up to 1,111 horsepower and a planned lineup of seven vehicles over the next five years.
CEER Launches Two Exobot Electric Models
CEER is described as Saudi Arabia’s national automotive company and is founded and backed by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund. The company plans to design, engineer and build its vehicles in the country.
Its first two models are both called Exobot, with one configured as a sedan and the other as an SUV. Both share a futuristic wedge-shaped design, top-hinged doors named for a falcon and large transparent panels integrated into the long door sections.
The steeply angled windshield is even longer than it appears. Both Exobot models use a windshield tilted back to just 15 degrees, with CEER calling it “the largest windshield ever produced.”
Exobot Features Up to 1,111 Horsepower
CEER says air-conditioning performance is a major feature of the two vehicles. The company has introduced a system called Halo Cooling that is said to reduce cabin temperatures from 150 degrees to “just” 90 in 10 minutes.
The Exobot models also feature steer-by-wire with just 160 degrees of input and rear-wheel steering. The vehicles can produce up to 1,111 horsepower, with the sedan accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 2.1 seconds and the SUV reaching the same speed in 2.4 seconds.
A launch model will produce 850 hp and use a 112-kWh battery, with a claimed range of up to 415 miles.
CEER Plans Seven Models Over Five Years
CEER plans to launch seven new models over the next five years. The lineup will include midsize and compact vehicles in addition to the two Exobot launch models, with all of them set to be built at a new factory.
The company also says future models will use other powertrains, although it has not provided details about those vehicles yet.
Foxconn, Rimac and Hyundai Transys Join CEER
The Saudi Public Investment Fund is partnering with electronics maker Foxconn on the electric car venture. CEER has also announced agreements with Rimac and Hyundai Transys to supply electric drive systems for its new models.
CEER is led by CEO James DeLuca, who previously served as VinFast’s first CEO and led manufacturing at GM.
With its two Exobot models, CEER is launching an ambitious electric vehicle program backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, with plans for seven models and a new manufacturing facility over the next five years.
