Genesis is continuing to expand its presence in the luxury segment, and a potential Genesis G90 Coupe is now drawing attention after fan-made renderings imagined what the two-door model could look like.
Genesis G90 Coupe Renderings Gain Attention
The Genesis brand has expanded its lineup significantly, becoming a top choice for premium mobility against established luxury brands. The automaker has also been aggressive with new model launches, targeting a wide range of enthusiasts from sporty-car buyers to those seeking ultra-luxury vehicles.
Now, speculation is growing around two potential new models. A new coupe is among the possibilities being discussed, with fan-made renderings offering a detailed interpretation of what a production version could look like.
Genesis X Gran Coupe Inspires New Design
Genesis recently quietly patented the X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible. The brand showcased both cars last year and has official renderings of the concepts.
Instagrammer Kelsonik has taken the idea further with his own renderings of a potential Genesis G90 Coupe, using the X Gran Coupe patent filings as the basis for the design.
Like the concepts and patent filings, the fan-made G90 Coupe rendering emphasizes its connection to the brand’s flagship G90 sedan. The design features a sleek, sculpted body, a sloping roofline and a two-door configuration.
Kelsonik’s color choices also distinguish the renderings. One version uses a bold red-and-orange combination, including the wheels, creating a look inspired by Genesis Magma. Another takes a more restrained approach with a gray-on-gray finish.
What the Genesis Patents Reveal
Kelsonik’s designs are purely fan-made concepts and do not confirm that Genesis will produce a G90 Coupe. The patent filings indicate design protection, but they do not necessarily guarantee that a production model will follow.
The current U.S. patent filings protect the design of the Genesis X Gran Coupe and Gran Convertible rather than technical details such as the engine, specifications or technology.
Genesis describes the X patents as new takes on the G90 rather than entirely new models. Because the G90 already exists and is in production, the patent filings could make it possible to develop coupe and convertible versions based on the existing model.
Genesis Has Previous Coupe Experience
The last time Genesis appeared in coupe form was when the name was still under Hyundai. That model was produced from 2008 through 2016 and competed directly with the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ and Nissan 370Z.
The latest G90 Coupe renderings offer a fan-created vision of how Genesis could bring a two-door model back to the lineup, drawing directly from the X Gran Coupe concepts and patent filings.
