The Kia Sorento recorded a sharp sales increase in September 2026, with U.S. sales rising 37.5% compared with the same month in 2025. The gain comes as the midsize SUV continues to offer a balance of size, cargo space and pricing within Kia’s lineup.
Kia Sorento Sales Rise in September
Kia sold 8,939 Sorento units in September 2026, up from 6,502 units during September 2025. That represents a 37.5% year-over-year increase and contributed to a 4.3% improvement in Sorento sales for the year so far.
The Sorento sits between Kia’s Sportage and Telluride in size. It offers substantial cargo space with the third row folded down, while the third row provides additional seating when needed despite having limited legroom.
The Sorento is also considerably less expensive than a Toyota Highlander, while remaining comparable once buyers move up the trim lineup.
Sorento Gains Support Kia’s 2026 Sales
While the Sportage remains Kia’s best-selling vehicle in the U.S., its sales have stayed consistent year over year. The Sorento’s 2026 performance has instead delivered a significant increase for the brand.
The Sorento’s 37.5% year-over-year sales increase is helping Kia’s overall sales performance across all models. Kia had sold 636,148 units by this point in 2025, compared with 667,386 units so far in 2026, an increase of 4.9 percent.
2027 Kia Sorento Pricing
The major changes for the 2027 model year include the addition of Jade Black Green paint and the deletion of Jungle Green. Kia says Jade Black Green is a popular color on the Telluride.
While vehicle prices are rising, Kia has announced only a $200 price increase for the Sorento’s base LX trim for the 2027 model year. The lineup starts at $32,590 for the entry-level LX, excluding destination, with ten trim levels available.
The most loaded front-wheel-drive model is the Sorento SX, starting at $42,490. The all-wheel-drive Sorento S starts at $37,490. Pricing for the Sorento hybrid models has not yet been announced.
