The Ford Maverick continued its strong sales run in the third quarter, with 27,793 pickups sold, a 59.6% increase from the same period last year. Through September, Ford has sold 74,300 Mavericks, setting a new sales record for the model.

Ford Maverick Sales Keep Climbing

The Maverick’s hybrid version remains a key part of its performance, with Ford describing it as America’s best-selling hybrid pickup. Sales of the entry-level Maverick XL also increased, rising 15.5% during the third quarter.

The results come as Ford’s strategy around its affordable lineup continues to deliver higher sales for the compact pickup.

Hyundai Santa Cruz Sales Decline

Meanwhile, the outgoing Hyundai Santa Cruz posted significantly lower sales. The model recorded 1,620 sales in September, down 9% from the same month last year.

For the third quarter, Santa Cruz sales totaled 4,830 units, representing a 25% decline from Q3 2025. Through September, year-to-date sales fell to 14,811 units, compared with 20,633 during the same period last year, a 28% decline.

Ford Trucks and SUVs Post Strong Results

Ford sold 1,516,279 vehicles through September, while F-Series sales reached 561,508 units. F-Series production increased 4.5% in the third quarter to 266,777 trucks, with Super Duty production reaching its best quarterly result in 19 years.

Ford’s SUV lineup also recorded a strong third quarter. Bronco sales reached 38,020 units for the quarter, bringing its year-to-date total to 114,956.

Explorer sales increased 17.6% to 189,210 units, while Expedition retail sales were up 10.1% so far this year.

Lincoln SUV Sales Gain Momentum

Lincoln also reported higher third-quarter sales for three of its headline SUVs: Nautilus, Aviator and Navigator.

Nautilus sales rose 17.7% to 9,066 units in the third quarter, marking its best third quarter since the model’s forebear first entered the midsize premium SUV market in 2007. After nine months, the outgoing model had sold 27,248 units, setting a new record.

Aviator sales increased 11.3% to 4,887 units during the quarter, with 18,309 sold so far this year.

Maverick Leads Ford’s Small-Truck Momentum

Ford’s latest sales figures show gains across its lineup, including its trucks and SUVs. The Maverick, however, stands out among small pickups, posting record sales through September while the Hyundai Santa Cruz has experienced a significant decline.
