The 2027 Nissan Altima is officially here, with the midsize sedan returning for another model year despite signs that its time in Nissan’s lineup may be approaching an end. The latest model brings a $210 price increase across the remaining trims, a simplified lineup, and the same engine, transmission, and power figures as before.
Nissan has reduced the 2027 Altima lineup to the SV and SR, with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive available exclusively on the SR. The SV Special Edition and SR Midnight Edition have been discontinued, leaving buyers with fewer configurations to choose from.
2027 Nissan Altima Prices and Trim Changes
The 2027 Nissan Altima starts at $27,790, excluding a $1,275 destination fee. Both remaining front-wheel-drive trims and the all-wheel-drive SR cost $210 more than their 2026 counterparts.
The updated pricing reflects a modest increase, while the removal of three configurations makes the lineup simpler than before.
- 2027 Altima SV FWD: $27,790, up $210 from $27,580 in 2026.
- 2027 Altima SR FWD: $29,190, up $210 from $28,980 in 2026.

- SV Special Edition FWD: Discontinued; the 2026 MSRP was $28,880.
- SR Midnight Edition FWD: Discontinued; the 2026 MSRP was $30,980.
- SR Midnight Edition AWD: Discontinued; the 2026 MSRP was $32,480.
What’s New on the 2027 Nissan Altima?
Major mechanical changes are absent from the 2027 Nissan Altima. The sedan continues to use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), with output depending on the drivetrain configuration.
Front-wheel-drive models produce 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive version delivers 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, with no changes to those figures for the new model year.
Fuel Economy Remains Unchanged
The 2027 Altima retains its existing fuel economy figures. Front-wheel-drive models are rated at up to 26 mpg in city driving and 36 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel-drive models achieve up to 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
These figures remain the same as the previous model year, reinforcing the limited scope of the changes for 2027.
Altima SV vs. SR: Features and Equipment
The SV and SR continue to offer distinct equipment and styling packages. The SV focuses on core features, while the SR adds sportier styling, larger wheels, and additional technology.
2027 Nissan Altima SV
The SV comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats. ProPILOT Assist remains available as an option on this trim.
2027 Nissan Altima SR
The SR features 19-inch wheels and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. It also includes wireless phone integration, paddle shifters, and a sport-tuned suspension on front-wheel-drive models.
All-wheel drive is available only on the SR, making it the sole choice for buyers who want that drivetrain in the 2027 Altima lineup.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 Remains Standard
Nissan Safety Shield 360 continues to come standard on the 2027 Altima. The suite includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear automatic braking, and lane-departure warning.
Drivers seeking additional driver-assistance technology can also opt for ProPILOT Assist on the SV.
Nissan Altima Could Be Nearing the End of Its Run
Although the 2027 Nissan Altima is already on sale in the United States, its future in Nissan’s lineup remains uncertain. The automaker has confirmed that it is preparing to discontinue the model as part of a broader lineup shakeup, raising the possibility that the 2027 version could be among the last opportunities to buy one.
The sedan’s declining sales provide additional context for its uncertain future. Nissan sold 56,424 Altimas in the United States through September, a 26% decrease from the same period last year.
The Altima remains a familiar name in the midsize sedan segment, but the latest model year brings limited changes, a narrower selection of trims, and higher prices. With Nissan preparing a broader lineup overhaul, the 2027 Altima continues the model’s run while its long-term place in the automaker’s range remains in question.
