Geely has moved ahead of established automakers Honda and Mazda in the UK new-car market, registering 5,155 vehicles in September 2026, just 11 months after entering the country. The Chinese automaker is also expanding its retail presence, having signed an agreement for its 100th UK outlet as it builds its lineup and dealer network.

Geely Beats Honda and Mazda in September Registrations

Geely registered 5,155 vehicles in Britain in September 2026, surpassing Mazda’s 4,417 registrations and Honda’s 4,149. The results put the relatively new market entrant ahead of both established brands for the month.

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Britain recorded 350,536 new-car registrations in September. Geely accounted for approximately 1.47% of that total.

The figures mark a notable step for a brand that entered the UK market in October 2025. Its initial offering was the EX5 electric SUV, and its lineup has since expanded to include the smaller EX2 and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV.

The expanded range gives British buyers several options across Geely’s electric and plug-in hybrid offerings as the company continues building its presence in the market.

Geely Signs Its 100th UK Retail Outlet

Alongside its September registration figures, Geely has reached another milestone by signing its 100th UK retail outlet, Evans Halshaw Geely Mansfield. Evans Halshaw is part of Lithia, one of Britain’s largest automotive retail groups.

However, signing agreements for 100 outlets does not mean all 100 locations are already open. Geely has not confirmed that every site is operational.

The company previously set a target of establishing 100 UK sites by the end of 2026. The latest agreement puts it on track to meet that goal.

Dealer Network Expansion Supports Geely’s UK Growth

Expanding its retail network gives Geely more opportunities to introduce its vehicles to potential customers, arrange test drives and provide servicing. The growing number of outlets also supports the company’s expanding vehicle lineup.

Geely’s September registrations indicate that its early push into Britain is gaining traction. The company is entering a market where Chinese automakers are gaining ground with broader vehicle ranges and expanding retail networks.

Whether Geely can sustain its registration performance in the coming months will depend on how its demand develops against established competitors and other Chinese brands.
