The Porsche 911 GT3 is getting a dedicated driver training program designed to help owners improve their skills behind the wheel. The new courses include a half-day drifting experience priced at $1,500 and a three-day advanced track program costing $23,000, giving drivers specialized training options tailored exclusively to the sports car.

Porsche 911 GT3 Gets a Dedicated Training Program

Despite the expansion of the Porsche lineup to include SUVs, sedans and electric vehicles, the 911 remains the brand’s crown jewel. However, its rear-engine layout, with the engine mounted behind the rear axle, makes the car particularly challenging to master.

The 911’s handling characteristics have improved over the decades, supported by driver-assistance systems. Even so, the car can still surprise inexperienced drivers with sudden oversteer.

The 911 GT3 is built for track driving and offers an engaging experience behind the wheel. Modern GT3 models are relatively easy to drive, but driving them well requires considerable skill, and mastering their capabilities takes even more practice.

The Porsche Track Experience, which has operated since 1974, traditionally offers driver training in a variety of Porsche vehicles. Its programs range from a one-day basic course to three-day master-level training. The new curriculum marks the first time the program has dedicated an entire series exclusively to one vehicle.

GT Drift Course Costs $1,500

The first specialized option is GT Drift, a half-day course focused on vehicle control during drifting and oversteer. The program is designed to teach drivers how to manage the car when its front and rear tires are no longer traveling in the same direction.

Training begins with a short classroom session before moving to the track for exercises involving trail braking, car rotation and drifting practice.

The half-day experience costs $1,500 and gives 911 GT3 owners an opportunity to develop their car-control skills in a dedicated training environment.

Masters GT Offers Three Days of Advanced Training

For drivers more interested in maximizing the 911 GT3’s performance on a race track, the Masters GT course offers a three-day advanced training experience. The program combines track time with personalized coaching to help participants improve their driving abilities.

Drivers must first complete the general Masters RS course before they can enroll in Masters GT.

The advanced program costs $23,000, with the price of the required Masters RS course not included. The training focuses on helping drivers make the most of the 911 GT3’s capabilities on the track.

Two Training Options for Porsche 911 GT3 Drivers

The dedicated 911 GT3 curriculum offers two distinct approaches to improving driving skills. GT Drift focuses on drifting and vehicle control in a half-day session, while Masters GT provides three days of advanced track training and personal coaching for drivers seeking to maximize the car’s performance on a race circuit.
