The 2027 Subaru Outback is becoming more affordable, with price reductions across most trims and the introduction of a new entry-level model. Starting at $32,995 before destination and delivery charges, the lineup lowers the starting price by $2,000 compared with last year’s base model while adding standard technology and comfort features.

2027 Subaru Outback Prices and Trim Levels

Subaru is lowering prices across much of the 2027 Outback lineup to make the SUV more accessible to buyers. Most trims are now about $1,000 cheaper on average, with some versions receiving reductions approaching $2,000.

The Premium trim retains its previous starting price, while the Limited, Touring and other higher-level versions receive price cuts.

  • Base: $32,995 — new entry-level trim
  • Premium: $34,995 — no change
  • Limited: $39,995 — down $1,720
  • Touring: $43,495 — down $1,900
  • Limited XT: $43,595 — down $770
  • Wilderness: $43,995 — down $1,000
  • Touring XT: $46,595 — down $1,400

All listed prices are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices and exclude destination and delivery charges. The revised pricing gives buyers more opportunities to choose an Outback without moving into a more expensive trim to obtain key features.

What the 2027 Subaru Outback Base Model Includes

The biggest addition to the 2027 lineup is the returning base model, which lowers the starting price while retaining a substantial collection of standard equipment.

Standard features include a 12.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, EyeSight driver-assistance technology, DriverFocus distraction mitigation, heated front seats and a power rear gate.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter Subaru Boxer four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

The entry-level Outback also offers 8.7 inches of ground clearance, X-MODE with Hill Descent Control and roof rails capable of supporting an 800-pound static load.

By including these features in the least expensive trim, Subaru is making the Outback more accessible while retaining key technology and capabilities.

Limited XT and Wilderness Get New Technology Features

The 2027 Subaru Outback lineup adds highway-driving assistance features to selected trims. The Limited XT now includes Highway Hands-Free Assist as standard equipment, along with Emergency Stop Assist with Safe Lane Selection and other new highway-driving aids.

Buyers choosing the Wilderness trim can add these features through an optional package, providing another way to equip the SUV with additional driver-assistance technology.

Three New Exterior Colors for 2027

Subaru is expanding the Outback’s exterior color choices for the new model year with three additions: Sand Dune Pearl, Daybreak Blue Pearl and Snowfall White Silica.

The new colors accompany the broader lineup updates, which combine revised pricing with additional equipment and technology options.

Why Subaru Is Cutting Outback Prices

Affordability and value are central to the revised pricing strategy, with families and first-time buyers among the audiences targeted by the lower starting price. The new base trim offers a wide range of standard features without requiring buyers to select a more expensive version.

Subaru previously adopted a similar approach with the WRX, which received a more affordable entry point and subsequently recorded a sales increase. Whether the 2027 Outback achieves a similar result remains to be seen.

When the 2027 Subaru Outback Arrives in the U.S.

The 2027 Subaru Outback is assembled in Gunma, Japan, and is scheduled to arrive at Subaru retailers across the United States later this year.

With a starting MSRP of $32,995, a new entry-level trim and price reductions across much of the lineup, the 2027 Outback offers a lower starting price alongside standard technology, all-wheel drive and additional equipment on selected versions.
