The Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Concept introduces a sportier take on Toyota’s five-passenger SUV for the 2026 SEMA Show. The concept features a lowered suspension, larger brakes, wider tires and an aggressive body kit while retaining the standard Crown Signia’s hybrid powertrain.
Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Concept Gets Performance Upgrades
The Toyota Crown Signia occupies a distinctive position in the automaker’s SUV lineup. Its features and specifications rival those of entry-level luxury vehicles, but its five-passenger cabin makes it smaller than Toyota models such as the Grand Highlander and Sequoia.
For the 2026 SEMA Show, Toyota is developing a sportier interpretation of the Crown Signia with the GT-S concept. The project focuses on improving handling and giving the SUV a more aggressive appearance.
The concept features custom MCS coilovers that lower its ride height by nearly 5.0 inches compared with the standard vehicle. It also receives larger brakes sourced from the Lexus RX 500h F Sport.
The SUV rides on 21-inch HRE wheels featuring bronze center sections, Y-shaped spokes and polished metallic rims. Its 295-millimeter-wide tires provide approximately 20% more contact patch than those on the existing model.
A More Aggressive Exterior Design
The Crown Signia GT-S Concept receives a custom body kit designed to give the SUV a more assertive appearance. The additions include front-fender vents, a rear diffuser and trapezoidal exhaust outlets.
The exterior features a custom dark gray paint mixture with additional metallic flakes and extra clear coat. Dark red accents appear on the tip of the hood, the badges and the side mirrors, adding contrast to the body color.
Toyota keeps most of the interior unchanged but introduces several GT-S-specific details. The gearshift features a red accent with bold white GT-S lettering, while the bolstered front seats receive red trim and GT-S badges on their headrests.
Under the hood, the concept retains the standard powertrain. Its only engine-bay styling change is a new GT-S engine cover.
2027 Toyota Crown Signia Specs and Pricing
The 2027 Toyota Crown Signia is available in XLE and Limited trim levels. Both versions use a hybrid-assisted 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with front and rear electric motors, producing a combined 238 horsepower.
An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) is the only available gearbox. The hybrid setup allows the SUV to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds while delivering a combined fuel economy rating of 38 mpg.
The 2027 Crown Signia XLE starts at $44,890, excluding a $1,595 destination fee. The Limited trim raises the starting price to $51,155.
Both trims include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The Limited adds rain-sensing windshield wipers, 21-inch wheels, a fixed panoramic glass roof and a digital rearview mirror.
The Limited also offers a more advanced driver-assistance package. Its features include front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, traffic jam assist, front cross-traffic alert, a panoramic view monitor with a 360-degree overhead view and lane change assist.
Could Another Wagon Concept Reach Production?
Interest in distinctive vehicle designs extends beyond conventional SUVs. Several wagons remain available, including the Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon and Audi RS6 Avant, but there are no full-size wagon models on the market.
Current wagons are based on midsize platforms, leaving no Mercedes-Benz S-Class wagon or Audi A8 wagon variant. Genesis has taken a different approach with its G90 Wingback concept.
The G90 Wingback builds on the existing G90 sedan platform, which already features a smooth and powerful engine. The concept also appears close to production readiness, meaning much of the underlying work has already been completed.
However, bringing the G90 Wingback to market would depend partly on its potential profitability. Genesis could produce the model, but it might not be as profitable as other vehicles in the brand’s lineup.
The Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Concept focuses on suspension, braking, tire and styling upgrades while leaving the hybrid powertrain unchanged. Its appearance at the 2026 SEMA Show presents a sportier interpretation of Toyota’s five-passenger SUV.
