Alpine A310 Vision: New Plans for Electric Sports Car

Alpine is reshaping its future sports car lineup, with the retro-inspired A310 Vision concept set to become a limited-production two-seater rather than the foundation for a new four-seat sports car. Alpine is reshaping its future sports car lineup, with the retro-inspired A310 Vision concept set to become a limited-production two-seater rather than the foundation for a new four-seat sports car. The company is also developing a separate 2+2 model with a modern design, alongside the next-generation all-electric A110 scheduled to debut in 2027.

Alpine Changes Its Plans for the A310 Vision

Alpine’s upcoming lineup is taking a new direction, with CEO Philippe Krief clarifying the company’s intentions for the A310 Vision concept, presented at the Paris Motor Show.

The A310 was originally expected to serve as the basis for a future 2+2 sports car, a project first announced in 2021. However, Alpine has since changed course, separating the retro-inspired A310 from its plans for a four-seat model.

According to Krief, the A310 Vision’s historical design influences make it appealing to a more specialized audience, limiting its potential for larger-scale production.

As a result, Alpine plans to turn the concept into a limited-production two-seater, while the future 2+2 will receive an entirely new design without direct connections to the brand’s past.

Why Alpine Is Developing a Separate 2+2 Sports Car

Krief explained that the A310 has a different appeal from the A110, which he described as a timeless design recognized worldwide.

“If the A110 is recognized worldwide as an absolute timeless beauty, the A310 is loved by French guys and connoisseurs, but the appeal is more niche,” Krief said. “That’s why we are going to do the 2+2 with an outstanding but more modern design.”

The upcoming four-seat sports car will feature a distinctive identity rather than relying on the A310’s retro styling.

Krief described the new model as “very, very modern” and “outstanding, but not attributed to the A310.” Alpine has not yet revealed what the vehicle will look like.

Alpine’s Future Lineup Could Include Three New Models

The revised strategy leaves Alpine with three upcoming models: the all-electric next-generation A110, the limited-production A310 Vision and the separately developed 2+2 sports car.

The next-generation A110 is scheduled to debut in 2027 and will be based on Alpine’s flexible Performance Platform, which could support additional vehicle possibilities.

However, the company has not confirmed when the A310 or the new four-seat sports car will arrive, or which model will launch first.

Alpine has also yet to disclose how many A310s it plans to produce, leaving questions about the model’s production scale as the brand moves toward a more exclusive approach.

What We Know About Alpine’s Upcoming Sports Cars

Alpine’s plans now point to a broader lineup that combines an electric A110 with a limited-production A310 and a modern 2+2 sports car.

While the A110’s 2027 debut is the only confirmed launch timing, further details about the other two models, including their designs, production numbers and release schedules, remain undisclosed.
