2026 Subaru WRX

The 2026 Subaru WRX returns with a restored base model, lower pricing across several trims, and expanded standard safety technology. Subaru’s updated lineup includes six trim levels, while manual-transmission models now receive EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as standard equipment for the first time.

2026 Subaru WRX Lineup and Pricing

Subaru is offering the 2026 WRX in six trims: Base, Premium, Limited, GT, tS, and Series Yellow. Every model is powered by a 271-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine producing 258 lb-ft of torque.

A six-speed manual transmission comes standard on every trim except the GT. The Subaru Performance Transmission is available on the Limited and comes standard on the GT.

Subaru also noted that the new WRX costs about the same as the 2002 WRX when adjusted for inflation, while offering significantly more equipment.

  • WRX Base: $32,495
  • WRX Premium: $33,995, down $3,755 from the outgoing model
  • WRX Limited (Manual): $38,995, down about $3,155
  • WRX Limited (Automatic): $39,995, down about $3,685
  • WRX GT: $44,995, down $2,710
  • WRX tS: $44,995, down $2,710
  • WRX Series Yellow: $45,995

A destination charge of $1,195 applies in most states.

Base WRX Adds More Standard Features

The returning base trim receives several upgrades compared with the previous entry-level model. Standard equipment now includes 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless access with push-button start, 245/40 summer performance tires, and a sport-tuned suspension.

Inside, the base WRX features an 11.6-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Models equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission also include incline start assist.

EyeSight Driver Assist Technology Now Standard on Manual Models

One of the most significant updates for the 2026 Subaru WRX is the expansion of standard safety technology across the lineup.

Every WRX, including models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, now comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and DriverFocus distraction mitigation.

On manual-transmission models, the standard system includes adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane departure and sway warning, and pre-collision braking. These features were previously unavailable on manual WRX models.

tS, GT, and Series Yellow Highlights

The performance-oriented WRX tS features STI-tuned electronically controlled dampers, a gold-finished Brembo braking system with six-piston front and two-piston rear calipers, 245/35 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires mounted on 19-inch wheels, and Recaro seats.

The automatic-only WRX GT combines Recaro seats with electronically adjustable ride control.

The new Series Yellow is based on the tS and is finished in Sunrise Yellow. It also includes matte black wheels, black badging, and yellow interior stitching. Subaru said production will be limited to 350 units.

Arrival Timing

The 2026 Subaru WRX continues to offer an affordable manual, all-wheel-drive sports sedan while introducing a lower-priced base model, price reductions across much of the lineup, and expanded standard safety equipment. The vehicle is assembled in Gunma, Japan, and is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the spring.
