The new Honda Ridgeline is officially on the way, with Honda confirming that a redesigned and more rugged version of its midsize pickup will debut within the next two years. A newly released teaser image points to a bolder, more truck-focused design while production plans signal a transition to the next generation.
Honda Confirms a More Rugged Ridgeline
Honda announced Thursday that a new Ridgeline will arrive within two years. The upcoming model is expected to feature a more rugged appearance than the current generation, which has been on the market for 10 years.
Based on the teaser image, the pickup appears to adopt a more upright front-end design with a straighter front bumper, a higher ride height, and tall all-terrain tires. The bed break line also appears more pronounced, although the truck is expected to retain its unibody construction.

Honda is designing the new Ridgeline at its Southern California styling studio while engineering development is being carried out in Ohio.
The Ridgeline has consistently ranked among the most American-made vehicles, and Honda indicated that trend is expected to continue with the next-generation model.
Powertrain Details Remain Unannounced
Honda has not released any powertrain specifications for the redesigned pickup.
The report suggests the new Ridgeline could share the new Passport’s 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6, potentially with hybrid assistance, although Honda has not confirmed those details.
The report also notes that the next Ridgeline could adopt additional elements from the new Passport. The current Ridgeline already rides on the previous-generation Passport platform, and the upcoming model will continue to be built at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant.
Production Pause Planned Before Launch
Honda confirmed that Ridgeline production will pause later this year to prepare the factory for the next-generation pickup.
The production schedule aligns with a previous report stating that the midsize truck would be out of production for approximately 18 months before returning in its redesigned form.
With a redesigned exterior, continued U.S.-based engineering and production, and additional details expected at a later date, the next-generation Honda Ridgeline is set to mark the model’s first major redesign in a decade.
