The Honda Civic Si manual transmission could be nearing the end of its production run, according to an alleged leaked internal Honda email. The document also indicates that production of the manual-equipped Acura Integra A-Spec with the Technology Package is expected to pause after the 2026 model year.
Leaked Email Points to Production Pause
A post on Reddit includes a screenshot of what is described as an internal Honda email sent to employees at the company’s Alliston, Ontario, manufacturing plant.
According to the document, Honda plans to pause production of both the Civic Si and the manual Acura Integra A-Spec at the end of the 2026 model year.
The email attributes the decision to “evolving business conditions surrounding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations required to certify 2027 MY and beyond.”
Manual Models Could Be Affected
If the reported document is accurate, the production pause would affect vehicles powered by Honda’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
The impacted models are the Honda Civic Si and the Acura Integra A-Spec with the Technology Package. Because the Civic Si is offered exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, the reported move would effectively end production of the model in its current form.
The document, dated July 22, states that Honda Canada Manufacturing’s overall production volume will not be affected because the Civic Si will be replaced with other Civic MTOC variants.
It also says Honda will determine how to proceed with the affected models once EPA regulations become clearer.
Honda Has Not Confirmed the Report
The original report states that American Honda Motor Co. was contacted to determine whether the alleged leaked email is authentic and whether the production pause would be temporary or permanent. No response had been reported.
Civic Si Remains One of the Most Affordable Manual Cars
The Honda Civic Si is one of the least expensive manual transmission vehicles currently sold in the United States, carrying a starting MSRP of $32,690, including a $1,195 destination fee.
The only manual transmission vehicle sold in the U.S. with a lower starting price is the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which starts at $31,665, including a $1,235 shipping charge.
Performance Specifications
The 2026 Honda Civic Si is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 200 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 192 pound-feet of torque between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm.
The engine is paired exclusively with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels through a helical limited-slip differential.
Honda lists the 2026 Civic Si with a 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph.
Acura Integra Shares the Same Powertrain
The Acura Integra A-Spec with the Technology Package starts at $40,495, including a $1,295 destination charge.
It uses the same 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission found in the Honda Civic Si.
