The 2027 BMW X5 configurator is now live on the BMW USA website, giving buyers their first opportunity to customize the updated luxury SUV. Although only the all-wheel-drive X5 40 xDrive is currently available to configure, a fully loaded build can exceed the $100,000 mark through a wide range of optional packages, features, and maintenance coverage.
2027 BMW X5 Pricing Begins at $69,800
BMW revealed the 2027 X5 nearly a month ago with a starting price of $69,800 for the X5 40, $72,100 for the X5 40 xDrive, $77,500 for the X5 50e xDrive plug-in hybrid, and $79,800 for the all-electric iX5 60 xDrive.
At launch, however, the online configurator only supports the X5 40 xDrive. Despite not being the most expensive version planned for the U.S. market, the available model can still reach six figures when equipped with optional upgrades.
Sport Packages Add Performance and Styling Upgrades
The 2027 BMW X5 40 xDrive comes standard with a Sport package that includes 21-inch wheels, Satin Aluminum roof rails, and Shadowline exterior trim.
Buyers can upgrade to the M Sport package for $3,250, which adds a different wheel design, gloss black roof rails, M Sport brakes with blue calipers, Adaptive M Suspension, and an M Sport steering wheel.
The more comprehensive M Sport Professional package costs $4,550 and includes everything from the standard M Sport package while adding additional gloss black exterior accents, 22-inch wheels, and red brake calipers. Both M Sport packages also feature unique bumpers with a more athletic appearance and a redesigned lower intake.
Exterior Color and Wheel Choices
Alpine White is the only no-cost exterior color. Mineral White Metallic, Space Silver Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Vancouver Green Metallic, and Grey Pine Metallic each cost $650.
BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue II Metallic is priced at $1,950.
The M Sport Professional package includes four wheel designs at no additional cost. Buyers can also select Individual 23-inch staggered wheels with summer tires, known as the 1122 design, for $1,000. BMW says these are the largest factory-fitted wheels ever offered on an X5.
Interior Options Increase the Total Quickly
The interior is offered in Contemporary, BMW M, and Individual themes.
The no-cost Contemporary theme includes Copper Brown, Black, and Silverstone, although Silverstone is unavailable with the selected configuration. Under the BMW M theme, Black/Atlas Grey is available, while Black/Atlas Grey II is not.
Premium Individual Merino Leather is available in Black, Vintage Coffee, Tartufo, Smoke White, and Adelaide Grey for $2,600. Selecting any of these interiors also requires the Anthracite Alcantara headliner, which carries no additional charge, along with the $2,800 Climate Package, bringing the effective cost of the premium leather upgrade to $5,400.
With the selected configuration featuring a blue exterior and Smoke White interior, the vehicle’s total reaches $85,650 before additional option packages are added.
Luxury and Technology Packages Push the SUV Beyond $100,000
The $3,100 Luxury Package includes a passenger display, automatic doors, and glass controls while removing some lower-level trim components for a $650 savings.
This package also requires the $1,450 Technology Package, which adds a Ceremonial Light Carpet, a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system, and manual rear window shades, increasing the combined cost by $3,900.
Additional available options include:
- Parking Assistance Package: $750, including automatic parking and a 3D camera.
- Driving Assistance Professional Package: $2,500, enabling hands-free driving on suitable highways at speeds of up to 85 mph.
- Digital White Individual steering wheel: $250, available with the selected white interior despite the M Sport Professional package.
- Trailer hitch: $750.
- BMW Ultimate Care+ 4: $7,649, extending maintenance coverage to seven years or 125,000 miles.
After adding the $1,350 destination and handling charge, the fully configured 2027 BMW X5 40 xDrive reaches a total price of $102,799.
Current Configuration Represents Only Part of the Lineup
The current configurator reflects only the X5 40 xDrive. BMW has not yet opened configuration for the rest of the 2027 X5 lineup, meaning additional models remain unavailable for customization at this time.
